Good evening. As Arctic temps and snow grip much of the country, I pray for all those who travel and have to spend time outside.
Also remember the many affected by the economic woes this season...anecdotal stories we're all hearing bring the statistics to life, and add a somber theme to the time which is usually so joyful.
The fumes from that stuff floating upward from my neck and chest is making my eyes water. I think it’s time to go lay my head down.
I’ll report the results of this experiment tomorrow.
G’nite
Good for him, Jem. It’s his duty to protect the perimeter, and if that person refuses to stop..Bang. I’m all for people obeying the law and when they don’t....it’s up to whomever to do what’s necessary.
What a great and thoughtful present from King Arthur..
I’m still up. Not for long, though. I hope your day was everything and better than you were hoping for.
Good luck IG. The fumes from the Vicks should open up your whole head. Hopefully the Vicks on the feet work. I’ve read it does.
Oh Jem, our day was perfect. I did the 2 ducks and they turned out beautifully. The rest of the dinner was the same, everything just right. Everyone was hungry enough so there are a few leftovers, but not much. It’s been a rather lazy day, as most of the prep was done yesterday.
I’m off to dreamland. Everyone stay warm and safe. Those of us south of the snow line, stay cool and safe. Sleep well everyone.

Good morning.
How was your Christmas?
JP
Our Christmas was great! We celebrated with the kids and grands the last three days.
D-i-l and son hosted, and I brought a lot of food.

Good Morning, Everyone!
Report on the Vicks Experiment:
1) I woke up ONCE during the night, but was able to get back to sleep without staring at the ceiling for an hour
2) I did not cough or have to blow my nose once during the night
3) I had used the Zicam anti-cough stuff, so some credit must be given to Zicam.
4) I still have a lot of pressure in head. Think I will take an Excederin Sinus capsule.
And I definitely will rub Vicks on my feet again tonite before I sleep.
Sounds like the Vicks worked, IG. Good!
Hope you can get rid of the sinus pressure now.
Good morning!
I can report that in my case the VapoRub on the feet was a 100% failure. The congestion in the chest is worse and I’ve begun coughing phelm. There is a slight dripping in the ears which is telling me that I’m going to be worse before I get better.
I did not sleep through the night but I did manage to total an entire night’s sleep. I’m not up yet. The laptop has made this “blogger in pajamas” into a “blogger in pajamas while still in bed”.
I’m going back to my standard remedies today. If the temps get high enough, though, I’m going to do some yard work. This is a great time of year to remove vines and other pesky persistent weeds. Also, LionsDaughter gave me two azalea bushes, the ENCORE variety, so I need to put those in the ground.
For those who are wondering, the Encore variety blooms at various times throughout the year ending only when there is a succession of hard frosts. By planting this variety, I’ll be having azalea blooms whenever I come home.
I also need about 200 more white pine or loblolly pine. Another wonderful present for me would be osmanthus frangrans (tea olive), rhododendron and camillias.
Gosh, I had hoped you would feel better this morning.
It’s just a cold, so I’m hitting the Ny Quil and Zicam this morning. I’m glad it worked for you.
I’m glad I tried the remedy. My feet are softer and smell like eucalyptus. And now I know.
I’m not even waiting until the leftovers are eaten. I am starting back on Atkins today. My body has totally changed and I do not like the way I feel after eating sweets and lots of carbs.
