The regular season in college football has come to an end, wild and woolly as it was. Some would like to use it as a legitimate excuse for a playoff system, some modification for the BCS system, or just something to discuss on 3rd dates. Other people, like Norm Chow, have said (and I paraphrase) "I'm against a playoff system. I wouldn't have wanted to see our '84 (byU national championship) team have to prove it on the field."
(In case you were wondering, yes, I have waited almost two weeks to post that). :)
(One more parenthetical note: the BCS Championship Game thread will be performed on a separate thread, since I'm pretty sure somebody is going to post that thread before I get the chance to do so.)
Anyway, as many of you know the bowl games thread works a little different than the regular season threads. Each day I'll ping the list to that particular day's slate of bowl games and you can say something like "wow, West Tennessee A&M Tech is playing in the Dyer's Hamburger Grease Bowl, I think I'll watch". Or maybe you won't, I don't know. But let's start off with...
TD Ohio State! A remarkable comeback!
WOW!!! Totally unbelievable comeback by Texas now.
OHIO STATE it appears to have pulled BCS Bowl defeat out of the mouth of BCS victory....cloest game in the latest 3 BCS games for the Buckeyes no less...
What was Ohio State thinking on Defense? That was a gimme TD.
I am clueless, how in the world Ohio State did not have a Safety sitting on the goal line to come up against just that scenario I will never know.
Well, Texas can now argue for AP #1, but I think USC has a valid argument too - they tooled both Ohio State and Penn St. Of course it will probably go to the Oklahoma-Florida winner, but you never know.
This has major BCS Nation Championship game fallout implications...That game is between the Sooners of OU and the Gators of UF....very likely split National Championship if the Thurs BCS National Championship Game is close regardless of who wins unless of course of a blowout in said game...
Did that makes any sense?
Utah is the only answer IMO.
That was really bad. I can not believe they had everybody upfront and had nobody defending against a short little pass that results in a walk in TD....a real head scratcher.
I think winner of FL/OK will get AP # 1, but who the heck knows.....
Makes as much sense as the BCS.....
I’m happy! My Texas Longhorns won! Not a very pretty win, but still a win!
Colt MCCoy just thanked Jesus Christ first and foremost before anything else.. just like Tim Tebow of the Florida Gators did the same after his team, the Gators, won their Conference Championship game back in December...
I agree with that answer. :)

He always does. He’s a great kid!
The final AP vote is going to be compelling---or at least it will be if OU takes the BCS title. If the Gators take it I don't think there will be much of an argument.
Since they won....I forgive you. ;>)
GMAC Bowl: Tulsa vs. Ball State (8:00 pm, ESPN) At one time, both the Golden Hurricane and the Cardinals were unbeaten. Even though both teams arent undefeated, check out these offensive stats: Tulsa has averaged 565.1 yards per game, Ball State has averaged 459.4. Both QBs have put up incredible passing numbers, contributing to just about 1,000 aggregate yards per game. Hopefully the scoreboard in Mobile is now a gigantic plasma screen, otherwise well need more light bulbs.
The GMAC Bowl? Shouldn’t that now be the TARP Bowl?
Go Ball State! keep the Mac from going 0-for in the bowls... UB did not do its part...
I am interested in seeing how the Tulsa offensive coordinator does, since Auburn has hired him for their new offensive coordinator. Also, like Ball State.
