Google: Obama’s Residence Linked to PSL Phone Number

This is curious and bizarre. A reader, Jane, conducted some Google searches related to the Obamas’ Chicago home on Greenwood Avenue, and discovered the following, which I verified with my own searches, and documented with screenshots at approximately 2:30 PM ET on 12/17/08:

A Google search of the Obamas’ address, 5046 Greenwood Ave., Chicago, yields this:

The phone number listed for the address, if you can’t make it out, is 415-821-6171, a San Francisco area code. When I Google’d that phone number, this came up:

The phone number associated with the Obama’s mansion is the number for the national Party of Socialism and Liberation. When I clicked on that link, I got this:

Why on Earth is the phone number for the Party for Socialism and Liberation linked to the Obamas’ private residence in Chicago?

I read the link in post 76 and it seems Northern Trust is both the borrower and the lender for this house. That means they could be making the mortgage payments to themselves and let 0 live there rent free. Shades of Chappaqua! I wonder what they expect in return for being so “nice”?

Your post referred to someone named Richard Becker. Richard Becker is another in a high leadership position at Workers World Party, and now the Party for Socialism and Liberation.

How does a house valued at $260K in 2000 and $322K in 2005 sell for $1.65 mill both times? Is it a $1.65 mill house undervalued to lower the property tax bite of the high rollers that own/have owned the property?

I think the difference in price has to do with the restrictive covenant which the previous owners had placed on the vacant lot.

As I understand it, by having the vacant lot declared as single family residential instead of multi-family residential it increased the value of the home.

I believe that is the median price estimate for homes in zip code 60615.

It certainly appears that way from the final paragraph:

Also interesting to note is that the mortgage document has the “stamp” of the Eugene “Gene” Moore, the Cook County Recorder of Deeds, dated 6/21/2005. The “borrower” is listed as Northern Trust Company as “Trustee of the Trust Agreement dated 5/10/2005 and known as Trust 10209″. The document has Northern Trust as both the “borrower” and the “lender”.

My daughter, who lives in Wyo., was here yesterday (took a personal day off from teaching to go to my granddaughter’s Christmas program. She likes to watch Oprah (I’m still trying to figure out why). Will offer to follow up on that? There is a property assessor who was fired because he brought the Obama property to the attention of his boss, and now he has attained whistleblower status.

Obama's mansion was only valued at $1.3+ mil, and when another "appraisal" came in at 1.6+ mil, the honest appraisor cried, "Foul," and was summarily canned.

It’s all too much for me, how did Northern Trust then end up lending itself well over a million dollars for the same property - that’s reportedly in the name of Obama’s accountant. I’m sorry I ever asked...
