When I had my antique shoppe, my customers always requested that I play this song on the old Victrola. One day, the store was packed, and when I cranked up the machine, to my surprise (and delight) every single customer began dancing.

The men bowed to the ladies, and the ladies, curtsied, and took their hands, and the waltz began. It was a sight I'll never forget, and this song will always remind me of that wonderful day:

Three O'Clock In The Morning

I'd be nervous to garden with snakes around. What kind of snakes do you have? I always tease LuvW about having scorpions. I'd never garden with them around. I have just enough wild life here, nothing too scary. ;) Do you see coyotes often?

Coyotes have been closer but my camera was never nearby.
This guy was stalking a jack rabbit.

We see the coyotes only occasionally but we hear them often.
When they howl, our dogs howl.

I forgot, we do see a scorpion once in awhile.
The snakes are gopher snakes ... not poisonious but creepy.
Also, I've seen one king snake.

Your Hug Graphic is adorable, Meg. Thank you.

Are you having winter weather yet?

It is cold and damp here ... overcast with high fog. Yucky weather!

I just took them out of the oven ... and burned my tongue taking the first bite! Here's the method I used today.

I thaw nine 'Rhodes' doughballs (yeast dinner roll dough balls for thaw, rise, and bake) and let them rise to double their frozen size. I cover the doughballs with tinfoil while rising, to prevent them forming a crusty surface due to being thawed in a 125 degree oven.

Then I roll all the risen dough up into a single large ball and kneed it together then flatten it out and roll it to 1/2 inch thickness in a rectangle ... I use parchment paper rather than a flour dusted surface.

With the large rectangle I cover the upper surface with cinnamon and sugar, then drizzle Karo over that and sprinkle chopped pecans on the Karo.

Rolling from the narrow end of the rectangle, I make a tight roll of the flattened dough (approximately four full turns) and cut 1 inch protions off of the roll and place them on the parchment paper and cover with tinfoil to allow thenm to again double in size, then without taking them out of the warming oven, I drizzle Karo over the risen rolls and sprinkle with chopped pecan onto the Karo and turn the oven up to 325 and bake for ten to fourteen minutes, depending upon the weather).

Today I sprayed the rolled dough with butter flavored cooking spray before sprinkling with cinnamon and sugar, then sprayed the second rise cut rolls with the same butter flavored spray before drizzling the Karo on. You use much less spray than you would use if you brushed the dough with melted butter or margarine, I thought the convenience would be nice.

I think I've figured out how to make them now without changing a thing! Yummy, they're gooood, with a mug of hot Twinnings English Breakfast tea, milk and dash of sugar. Hope you enjoy ... I have four left cooling to room temp. :^) I have to eat my work, you know? The cats don't eat sweets and I've no snuggly wife to feed them to ...

I see coyotes, dead or alive, on my drive back and forth to work.

Saw a family of them when we used to walk on the University campus here in town. They were very unafraid of us.

They don’t bother people...just rodents and sometimes small livestock.

I have NEVER seen a live (or dead) scorpion anywhere near my house!

What a great “happening” and memory, yorkie!
I LOVE Antique stores..I confined myself to only buying very small things but had so much fun browsing Antique row here when I first moved..My daughter in law has furnished her extra bedrooms and dining room with some antique things from my family, some hers and some from my inlaws...
They painted my son’s first twin bed and chest..added another similar twin bed and chest painted in one room..not antiques but over 50 years old. They are in my youngest (college age)grandson’s room.

She has friends who have an antique store and are decorators who helped her decorate and add needed touches. She purchased an antique Welsh piece that is wonderful..very tall kind of a sideboard with shelves above.

All the seating in the living room, den are modern and comfortable..and seem right at home with the old pieces.
