Talk about spoiled! Our rats are worse than the kids ever thought about being! We can’t even say squirrel—we could spell it for awhile, then we ended up saying—the s q’s are out!

She is so cute, Kitty. It is funny how she barks and howls and the same time.
I think she must be part lab. I am so happy she came to live with you. She found an excellent, loving home.

The holidays are difficult. I still have my husband but I miss my Mom and Dad and others who have passed on. It helps knowing they are in a better place.

He Wishes For The Cloths Of Heaven |

HAD I the heavens' embroidered cloths, Enwrought with golden and silver light, The blue and the dim and the dark cloths Of night and light and the half-light, I would spread the cloths under your feet: But I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams under your feet; Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

Paudeen
INDIGNANT at the fumbling wits, the obscure spite
Of our old Paudeen in his shop, I stumbled blind
Among the stones and thorn-trees, under morning light;
Until a curlew cried and in the luminous wind
A curlew answered; and suddenly thereupon I thought
That on the lonely height where all are in God's eye,
There cannot be, confusion of our sound forgot,
A single soul that lacks a sweet crystalline cry.

We live in the country but we have lots of migrant workers in the area. Some walk about a mile to the small local market and post office.
Marissa knows if she is in the front, she is to come in the house if anyone is on the street or if a car slows down or stops. We don’t have any kids near so she goes to the after school program for about an hour every day.
We also take her to school and pick her up every day.

Usually, Mr Mittens wants to be out hunting or prowling but since the weather is damp and cold, he wants to come inside and find a warm place for his nap.
(I don’t blame him.)
I think every day the stitches hold is a plus. I can’t remember when we had females fixed. The males, Milo and Mr Mittens, were no problem. There isn’t as much involved as with the females.

Millie and Max taken July 2004

Max and Millie taken August 2005.
Millie looks about the same, but Max is larger than he was 3 years ago.
They are both great dogs.

How very very cute.
I didn’t notice that they were animated until someone (Jaycee or GeeBee) mentioned it.

Our dogs eat more in the winter. I think they burn more energy to stay warm. They both have houses but Millie does not always sleep in hers. She usually waits until early morning. Max likes his house and sleeps in it most of the time. In the heat of summer, he will find a cool spot in the shade for his naps.
