A poet, wanting to earn some money, decided to hire himself out as a handyman-type and started canvassing a wealthy neighborhood. He went to the front door of the first house and asked the owner if he had any jobs for him to do.

"Well, you can paint my porch. How much will you charge?"

The poet said, "How about 50 dollars?"

The man agreed and told him that the paint and ladders that he might need were in the garage. The man's wife, inside the house, heard the conversation and said to her husband, "Does he realize that the porch goes all the way around the house?"

The man replied, "He should. He was standing on it."

A short time later, the poet came to the door to collect his money.

"You're finished already?" he asked.

"Yes," the writer answered, "and I had paint left over, so I gave it two coats."

Impressed, the man reached in his pocket for the $50.

"And by the way," the poet added, "that's not a Porch, it's a Ferrari."

I'll show you yours if you'll show me mine.

Everyone .... I am feeling much better. I got lots of rest this weekend. Long naps on Friday and Saturday. Today we finally made things look a little more Christmasy. We didn’t do a lot but did get some decorations up outside. We put up a small fibre optic tree. Most of my ornaments were hand painted by my mother and I only let Marissa put a few on the tree. I let her use mostly old purchased ornaments.

JustJr had his kitten here again today. Cissy wasn’t too bad but she did want to play with the ornaments. She is more interested in Carl, Marissa’s Beta Fish. She is a cute kitten and keeps us entertained, but she is very presistent. Mr Mittens is not sure what to think of her. He just wants to get someplace quiet and take a nap but she constantly attacks him. After a short time with Cissy, he is ready to got outside and find a bed in an undisclosed location. We have at least two homeless cats that make nightly visits and share his garage and his food. They are not friendly; whenever they see us, they head back to the orchard like a bolt of lightening. I guess they don’t realize that we put out extra food everyday.

Merry Christmas everyone; Sweet dreams.

I’ll see you tomorrow.

A man was friends with the clerk at the pharmacy. He went to see him for a favor.

“You see, I’ve got three stewardesses coming over to my place for the weekend, and I want to see that they are properly entertained.”

“Hey, I can’t give you anything to slip into their drinks or anything!”

“No, no! I just want to be fortified for the event. I’ve got all kinds of things lined up; movies, dance music, you know!”

“Well, okay. I guess I can help you out then. Good Luck!”

... Later ...

... Like, a long time later ...

The man came back into the pharmacy and asked for some BenGay.

“Wait a minute. You look terrible. Let me examine you before I prescribe anything.”

The man submitted to an examination. Sure enough, he looked as though he had been through a meat-grinder.

“Oh, man!” said the clerk, “I can’t let you have BenGay for that condition. It would kill you!”

“No, no! You don’t understand,” the man protested, “The BenGay is for my shoulders ...”

.

“... The girls never showed up.”

.

.

.

(I think he must have spent the weekend digging post-holes or something. That will really put a hurtin’ on your shoulders.)

LOL

Marissa comes up with names that are kinda different. She named her goldfish Dorothy. That was fine but when I asked what she was going to name the male Beta, she comes up with Carl. I didn’t even know she had ever heard that name.

Amazing Grace is one of my always favorite songs.

As a rule, I don’t click on music or video’s as it does not do well on my extra slow dial up connection.

Your link was perfect, thank you for sharing.

I will pass on the snow, thanks.

The 70 degrees would be nice, the sun shined today, but it did not warm up and at dusk, quickly fell to 30 degrees.

LOL, well ok, once I was young enough to go and play in the snow and to find it exciting...just not now.

When I see fresh snow, I always marvel at how simple it is for God to cover all the scars on the earth, with a blanket of snow.

December Desire
They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. —Revelation 22:5

December is a month when people celebrate miracles. The Jewish tradition of Hanukkah—the Holiday of Lights—commemorates the time when a small amount of oil lasted 8 days and kept the light in the temple from going out. And Christmas celebrates the coming of the “Light of the World,” God in human form—Jesus.

A miracle is generally thought of as something that contradicts nature. But a true miracle is the introduction of God’s supernatural power into our world in a way that suspends the laws of physics as we understand them.

In December, it seems that more of us are willing to suspend disbelief and entertain the possibility that “nature” is not the final authority. Even the non-religious yearn for miracles. Deep down, everyone wants to believe that darkness, disease, and death can be overcome.

Perhaps the most wondrous thing about miracles is that it is God’s nature to do the supernatural. The closing chapters of Scripture assure us that this “December desire” for all to be well will become a reality: “There shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain” (Rev. 21:4). God will one day bring to an end the unnatural rule of Satan and begin His righteous reign as the rightful Ruler of the universe.

Thank You, Lord, that although we live in a world
where Satan’s shadow obscures Your glorious light,
we eagerly anticipate the day when Your full glory will once again illuminate all creation. Amen.

A miracle needs no explanation to those who believe in God; to those who don’t, no explanation is enough.
