Good evening and welcome to the new week's thread...

P-E Obama is expected to announce his "Economic Team" today - Monday, and - hold on to your wallets - heavy spending plans to "boost" the sagging economy.

Meanwhile rumors swirl around the kind of deal he has struck with Hillary about the State Dept. job.

On all fronts...we shall see...

Good afternoon...

I ran in and out of the grocery this morning to get...1 banana for my mother who likes them yellow, no spots..

Anyway, wanted to tell you Snarlin about listening to Mark Levin last night on way home from chorus rehearsal...he spoke at length in tribute to those who commit so much time and energy and money to rescuing pets, especially dogs who are near and dear to his heart.

It was a long segment for pet lovers, and very touching and memorable. I was hoping you might have heard it Snarlin...

I missed it..darn it.

After reading Mark's book, Sprite, I found that we have a few things in common. His Pepsi , I think, and my Terrie need to find the perfect blade of grass or snowflake to go potty. ;-)

I bought 2 bananas to go with our waffles and pecan syrup that we expect to have sometime this Thanksgiving long weekend.

I'm stuffed just thinking about them.

Yup.:)

I normally wouldn't splurge on something like that, but I've been working really hard these past few months and thought I deserved a treat.:)

I absolutely love the Thin Man movies. They are proof positive that it's possible to make a funny, witty, stylish movie without resorting to vulgarity. Or that it WAS possible, at one time. I suppose they are considered "boring" by most these days.

Hi Molly ~

No, I’m afraid I did not hear it, and wish I had. My little rescue doll is doing very well. She is almost totally healed up, and is starting to look very robust. She’s gaining inner muscle and fat. We switched her to the raw food diet, as it builds muscle. She’s a happy camper.

I will post another picture once she is bathed and beautiful again.

Happy Thanksgiving all

lol, Katie ordered a "giant" blueberry pancake this morning; the size of a dinner plate and nearly an inch thick.............topped of course with whipped butter and raspberry syrup. She scarfed it right down. (I don't know where she puts it.)

I behaved myself with a veggie omelet.:)

You really missed a beaut, Snarly and lysie.

Mark read a story of a man whose dog had died. I will write a couple or so highlights that I remember. Molly, you can add or correct me if you desire. I taped it, but don't have it handy.

The man was still in tears over his dog, as he walked through the humane shelter looking at the dogs in the cages. He was almost to the end of the row, and when he came to the last cage, there was a large, black 100 lb Lab-German sheperd mix.

Sierra was wagging her (rats, I forgot the sex, I'll say her) tail confidently as those big brown eyes were saying, "I've been waiting for you." He told how Sierra's involvement in the family took them down wonderful paths that they never would have otherwise.

One other incredible part of the story of Sierra. One night he was driving and for some reason had to stop in a dark area to use a pay phone with some not so friendly looking men in the area. He sensed danger, and apparently, so did Sierra, as she stepped out the car and stood next to him as if to say, "I'm here." The men took pause with that and that gave the man and Sierra time to get back in the car and leave.

She died in her sleep earlier this year at the ripe old dog's age of 105.

Thanks for relaying that story. Dogs can be the most precious of creatures.

We’ve had many, many dogs, but most of them choose to love and bond with my husband, because he works at home, and feeds them, etc.

Charlotte has chosen me. I don’t deserve it, but will embrace it. It’s very special.

If true, this is very, very disturbing:

I am very thankful for the friends that I have.

Gentlemen, we are3 about to go over the top. Are you around to do the honors?

I am sitting down while I am waiting for the dinner rolls to rise. Then, I will saute the breadcrumbs in butter and saute the knopli. Tomorrow, prior to serving, I’ll sprinkle the breadcrumbs on the re-heated knopli and serve. It is yum-and-a-half.

It is a type of dumpling. It is made of eggs, flour, and milk. This dough is pushed through a pan with holes in the bottom into boiling water. These noodles can then be used in casseroles and soups or eaten as a seperate dish by themselves. It is a tradition in our family passed on to us by my Swiss grandmother from Zurich. In German this dish is called spateli (I think).

I missed on the spelling: knopfli and there are two dots over the "o".

West Side Story is finishing up. I thought it was a stupid story. It is just as stupid as Romeo and Juliet.
