Well, this IS November-buster month as Greg calls it. Problem is it's been happening all year long. :-)

Some people can be so inconsiderate.

Good morning to all from over-cast Hoosierland......looks like it could snow anytime.

I have not been able to get on to Freerepublic for a few days......sure miss it when I can’t log on.

Molly, I have a neighbor who has a Obama sign in their yard and it is all I see looking out my large kitchen window....I have taken to eating in the dining room or on a TV tray....ruins my appetite when I see the sign.

Onto a much better subject...I have bought some supplies to try my hand at “one-stroke” painting. The Gardening Friends meeting was lots of fun for those interested in painting...one fellow left early. ;o)

That’s nothing, kassie. About 20-30 miles north of us got 3 feet in less than 24 hours.

Excellent kassie! Very well said! If he had already infected the Oval Office, I can see him laughing in defiant arrogance as he holds a press conference and ‘flips the bird’ to Al Zawahiri like the adolescent did to McCain just before the election on the one hand; or on the other hand, crawling under his desk and curling into the fetal position.

I’m a little jealous. All we have is dark skies and chilly temps. A little snow would brighten my mood considerably. A LOT of snow would brighten it even more.

Good to see you, N.B.! Now that that confounded election is over, I could only take so much of that gloating with that wretched sign for so long until one night it just ‘disappeared’.

He’s coming home this weekend for a visit, and he & Katie will both be here for Thanksgiving and again for Christmas. I’m so glad, because once January rolls around we won’t be seeing much of him for a long, long time.:(

Yep.

Our theme this year is "Childhood Favorites".....so we let the kids plan the menu; they picked some of their favorite dishes from when they were little. So it won't be fancy; we're talking meatloaf, macaroni & cheese, green bean casserole, corn, jello salad, stuff like that. Appetizers to include pizza rolls and Nacho Cheese Doritos. We'll end the meal with their daddy's famous triple chocolate cake and mom's traditional English trifle.

Not the healthiest meal, to be sure, but very high on the nostalgia meter.:)

I'll decorate the tree with ornaments belonging to the three of them, including some of their handmade ones from kindergarten etc.; and even the gifts will reflect the theme; a Barbie doll for Em (she collects them), and book of short stories written by a former teacher of Ev's, Star Trek calendar for Jake, etc. I even found a John Deere Barbie doll for Katie (she's country, through & through:) & a Kansas City Chiefs sock for Curt (for some reason they've been his favorite team forever.)

I'm having a ball planning all this. I even ordered some "retro" 50's socks for hubby & me and will fill them with small toys from our era (slinky, gyroscope, Duncan yoyo, etc.)

okay, I won't go look at Drudge...thanks for the warning, kassie...

MozartLover, do you like Little Shop...?? That and Sweeney Todd...gosh, they don't seem very entertaining to me...However.., you sound great!

Now off the the laundry pile...got the car tires checked this a.m., and bought my husband a nice sports coat - on sale - then some other stuff, and time with my mother...all the while with the 12 Days of Christmas going thru my head...

We're performing a musicological study of that carol: everything from Gregorian chant style to a Sousa march. It's pretty funny, and you're probably familiar with it. The only one I don't like is the Wagner Ride of the Valkyrie section!

LOL at your “suggestion” that the Zero’s sign might disappear.....they have a chain link fence and a big dog is one of the reasons the sign is still there, I suspect!!!
