Looking for the best place to buy bulk ammo from. Obviously want best price, but would like experienced buyers to recommend which to possibly stay away from due to poor quality. Years back bought bulk at a gunshow and had all kinds of problems. These were .357 SIG and 9mm rounds.
Ammoman.com maybe or go to a show and pay cash.
Actually, I was surprised no one had posted it yet.
For everyone asking about brands: spend the few extra bucks to get good ammo, preferably US military specification. You get what you pay for.
Whoops - Typo there.
Have been reading a little about them. Hearing they make accurate ammunition at a decent price.
Certainly going to check walmart to see what they are getting for a box of the .357 SIG.
9mm 115grain and .45 are real accurate and low price.

Have used quite a bit of their ammo. Overall its worked pretty well.

"What kind of barrel do you want on your fighting scattergun? First of all, you want as short a tube as possible."
"Let's consider pellet size. Regular shot runs from No. 12 all the way up to 000 buckshot. The odds-on favorite for combat (read: anti-personnel) use is 00 buck. Double-ought pellets are approximately .33 caliber and weigh around 52 to 54 grains apiece."
Enjoy the rest and let us know what you decide.
To all Freepers....
Make sure you buy what FIRES in your choice of a firearm!
Some surplus military ammo such as the 5.56 will work in a Ruger Mini 14, and some .223 Rem will fire in an AR 15, I will leave the details to the tech squad here but in a nutshell there can be complications, possibly some unsafe ones such as excessive chamber pressure. Some older revolvers will not handle any +P rounds, if you buy anything used take it to a gunsmith and have it checked out.
Also is the issue of firing reloads in an unsupported barrel, again techies chime in on that issue.
I have thousands of rounds, most I reloaded myself, many ammo cans of 5.56 I bought from private sellers, that ammo is last resort or plinking, I won’t put my life on the line with unknown ammo.
Buy wisely and be aware there is a veritable army of followers that will find a way to put your name in a database, you can’t outrun Google it appears to the new slang nowadays.
This advice is to novices, I live and hunt dagerous big game in Alaska in severe conditions, I treat my firearm with most diligence. Whatever you buy get the book on it, many many places online to find out how to strip it down and clean it, how to lubricate it properly and how to store it.
Think gun safety at all times.
TREAT ANY FIREARM AS LOADED AND READY TO FIRE, my nephew died from an accidental discharge of a 9mm friends gun that was just showing it to him, and I lost my sister also in a gun accident many years ago.
My advice is miniscule to what you must know, find forums and sites that have all the information. A few:

thanks will print it out and read it
Mail order ammunition is simple. They’ll probably want you to fax a copy of your driver’s license for proof of age.
Once that’s on file, they just ship it to your door UPS or FedEx Ground.
#2’s alternating with double ought or slugs.
That’s funny, I just discovered an ammo can of 12 gauge and one of .45 that I forgot about. Also several hundred rounds of .40 even though I sold my glock about 3 years ago. Oh well.
You can have ammo shipped directly to you. I don’t know if this particular shop will ship though.
I used to order ammo from Sportsmans Guide, as well as a lot of other cool stuff over the years too. The service has always been just fine. If you buy a lot it’s worth it to join their club for discounts. Unfortunately the Peoples Republic of California has banned mail order sales of ammo, not to mention all kinds of other good stuff, like machetes and bison leather jackets (go figure!). I am however still well stocked from what I bought during the Clinton years!
I've shot a lot of Wal-Mart ammo, and haven't really noticed any quality issues compared with ammo purchased elsewhere. The ammo would be 9mm Luger, 12 ga. shot, .300 Winmag, and lots and lots of .22LR. One thing I would note is that I would highly doubt that any competent manufacturer would sell ammo - period - that hasn't undergone some sort of quality control checks.
