We went to a support prop 8 rally. Prop 8 is the marriage initiative.

The local church told me they would be having a rally tonight so I called Jim. Sheila, Jim, Marissa and I joined them for about an hour and a half. Someone threw eggs at some of the kids from church.

I’m back now and it’s time to get Marissa to bed. :)

We all need to continue praying for our country tomorrow.

They are such cute little animals. I’ve always loved them. Or at least pictures of them.

Choosing Our Leader
Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve . . . . But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. —Joshua 24:15

Today, millions of people in the United States will cast their votes for a slate of political leaders, including President. After months of campaign speeches, television ads, and debates, each voter has the opportunity to say to one candidate, “I choose you.” Not everyone’s favorite will win, but every voter has a choice.

Unlike a political election in which the majority rules, each of us is given the opportunity to select our personal leader each day. In the spiritual election deep within our hearts, our choice will stand no matter what others may decide.

After many years in the Promised Land of Canaan, the aged Joshua called the people of Israel together and issued this challenge: “If it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Josh. 24:15). In a great collective response, the people said, “We will serve the Lord!” (v.21).

Everyone serves some kind of god. Whom will we choose to have rule in our hearts today?

Thy will I choose; I give to Thee
All of the life Thou gavest me;
Thy will I choose, no life I ask
Except to do Thy given task. —Anon.

Each day we choose the one we will follow in life.

GOD BLESS THE U.S.A.
by Lee Greenwood

If tomorrow all the things were gone,
I'd worked for all my life,
And I had to start again
with just my children and my wife,
I'd thank my lucky stars
to be living here today;
'Cause the flag still stands for freedom
and they can't take that away.

I'm proud to be an American
where at least I know I'm free,
And I won't forget the men who died
who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up next to you
and defend her still today,
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.

From the lakes of Minnesota
to the hills of Tennessee
Across the plains of Texas
from sea to shining sea.
From Detroit down to Houston
and New York to L.A.,
There's pride in every American heart
and it's time we stand and say:

I'm proud to be an American
where at least I know I'm free,
And I won't forget the men who died
who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up next to you
and defend her still today,
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.

Election Day

Today's election is truly a history-making day ~ no matter the outcome, a Woman
has never been the Vice President, nor has a Black Man won the White House.

King Tut Tomb Discovery, 1922

King Tut's Tomb lay undisturbed for roughly 3,300 years until English archaeologist Howard
Carter discovered it Nov. 1, 1922. Carter and his team happened upon it as they dug near a
spot where the tomb of Ramses VI had been found years earlier. Digging thirteen feet below
the Ramses tomb they discovered a staircase that led to King Tut's Tomb.

Well, while this election was a milestone for me, personally, the turn-out is going to be a record for sure. I do believe we will get a turn-out almost as good as the Iraqis did. I wouldn’t have believed the lines would have been as long as they were this morning when the polls opened. We went an hour early and there was already a fairly long line but it was nothing compared the line as we were leaving. It went out of the building and wrapped around the parking lot. Don’t know which party has an advantage, if either one does, from a larger than normal turn-out. McCain is supposed to be above 60% and Obama is supposed to be below 40%. Let’s hope the extra people are not all Barry-O voters.

Lots of wonderful celebrations today for fun. I have some bookwork to do today but I certainly will try to check in occasionally to play.. cannot live without playing a little. Thank goodness, my voting happened last week and I sure am glad I don't have to stand in lines today! Have fun, dear Billie.
