Majie, I had a horrible time with HTML for many years. Then, somebody told me how to do it soooo simply. I hope it is ok if I share it with you:

To post the url link to an article with only the clickable title showing, here is how I do it:

Say you want to post the thread here, and title your post to LJ. Here is how you would do it. (Copy the url, type "<*a href=" and paste it (the url) right after the =). Then do this, removing astericks:

<*a href=*http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/chat/2121514/posts?page=181#181>Majie's Post to LJ<*/a>

Here is what it would look like, if you removed the astericks:

Majie's Post to LJ

Voila! A clickable LINK!

I found this on the web at some point. I love sunsets! I have a lovely field right behind my house and a wall to sit on where I love to watch sunsets. I never remember to bring my camera, though. And when, exactly, is the right moment to capture one? Anyway, I just wanted to send a smile out to all.

Freep mail me to be on or off the Daily Bread ping list

November 3, 2008
God’s Catalog
By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another. —John 13:35

Tis the season to receive catalogs in the mail. Every trip to the mailbox ends with an armload of slick holiday catalogs. Each one claims to offer me something I need—immediately. “Don’t wait!” “Limited offer!” “Order now!”

The lure works. I open the pages to discover what I didn’t know I needed. Sure enough, I see things that suddenly seem essential, even though a few minutes earlier I didn’t know they existed. Manufacturers use catalog illustrations to create desire for their products.

In a way, Christians are God’s catalogs. We are His illustration to the world of what He has to offer. His work in our lives makes us a picture of qualities that people may not know they need or want until they see them at work in us.

Jesus prayed that His followers would be unified so the world would know that God sent Him and loved them as God loved Him (John 17:23). When Christ is alive in us, we become examples of God’s love. We can’t manufacture love. God is the manufacturer, and we are His workmanship.

As you browse holiday catalogs, consider what the “catalog” of your life says about God. Do people see qualities in you that make them long for God?

What does the world see in us
That they can’t live without?
Do they see winsome qualities
And love that reaches out? —Sper

As a Christian, you are “God’s advertisement.” Do people want what they see in you?

Soul Storm

Oh black the storm of the inner storm doth rage
and has for its seems a long and bitter hard age
let not the darkening winds torment the soul
in the bitter landscape of the spirit’s toll

Icy grip of ancient pains abound within
and scribed upon the soul its tale of sin
writ large in grey grief and bitter lines
such is the heart’s history in sure signs

Weep not, for none will care in the end
but stand tall and fall if need to mend
weave repair within your weft to fix it firm
before the final onset of the conquering worm

Give Me A Home

Give me a home to call my own
A humble home of wood or stone;
A place where ripples laugh all day
And songbirds sing and children play
A little home of love and cheer
Where seasons paint throughout the year,
And at last, when the day is through,
A place where I may talk with you.

Give me a home to call my own,
A friendly home to stand alone
And crown some earthly mound of clay
Or set before an ocean spray,
A simple home of faith and trust
Where I may toil in Heaven's dust
And when, anew, each day is through,
A place where I may be with you.

Give me a home to call my own,
A common home of tree or stone;
A place where kindness lights the way,
And flowers bloom and willows sway-
A home of love where hearts may kiss
Each tender joy of wedded bliss,
And in each hour of life to find,
A truer peace of heart and mind.

Morning FRiends,

Just found out McCain will be landing in Bristol just about any minute, Fox said. Wish I had known sooner. It is Tri-Cities Airport and just a few miles from here. Hope its on t.v. any time now, so I will be watching. I was surprised I didn’t hear earlier unless it was just decided in the last few hours. McCain is hitting about 8-10 states today.

At the moment, Joe the Biden, (as McCain calls him) is speaking.
