I just want to get a "feel" for what names or titles we can re-name this monster of a legislation.
The average person does not know that the "Fairness Doctrine" is -- and when they see the words "fair", they think that it's okay, which it's not.
Mark Levin coined it last night.
They should just call it, “Let’s UN-Ratify the First Amendment” or something straight to the point.
The name “Fairness Doctrine” is perfect in its Orwellianism.
How about “Today Bradcast, Tommorrow Internet” or “F R U R Next”
Pass this on to your talk radio ping lists, please....
I like the Orwell Document. Although the HUSH RUSH Bill is appropo. They can’t beat him on merit, so they have to take him off the air.
“The Fascist Doctrine”
Pravda policy
Pravdaization.
Corporate Welfare for Liberal Media.
(I like the Censorship Doctrine, best.)
The “fairness doctrine” is specifically targeted towards talk radio... it exempts all other forms of media.
There is no question that it would not be an issue if it were not for Rush Limbaugh.
The Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution
The FUBAR Doctrine :)
Seriously- Levin’s is best- Censorship Doctrine.
"All of Germany hears the Fuhrer on the People's Radio."
Mark Levin calls it the Censorship Doctrine.
I emailed Rush, Sean and Mark suggesting that we call the present law (the way things are today) the FREEDOM DOCTRINE and ask our representatives why the Democrats want to repeal it.
People don’t seem to understand that in order to achieve some kind of “fairness” (as defined by the government, by the way) a society has to give up a great deal of freedom. I don’t know why it doesn’t register - Cuba, a test case if there ever was one, is only 90 miles away.
Unfairness Doctrine. Politically Correct censorship, The Double Standard Doctrine as CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, NPR, PBS, Pacifica, et al will NOT require balance on their news programs, community affairs programs, or dramatizations.
The Obamunists are ushering in a chill wind.
It isn’t that Laura Ingraham, Rush Limbaugh, and Michael Medved don’t have clips or guests or callers with an opposing view, it is that the liberals do not get to set the show’s agenda.
But while the commercial media is beholden to no such doctrine, the 501c3 tax cheat left of the dial media IS because they VOLUNTARILY give up their right to political advocacy and endorsement by applying for that tax free status. And yet they still engage in such partisan broadcasting in violation of their tax charter.
I am not afraid to call it what it is.
Kudos to those of you calling it The Orwell Doctrine and The Censorship Doctrine ala Mark Levin.
God help us all if Obama wins next month.
We are Americans, and we will be under siege by communists, anarchists, terrorists, fascists, criminals and other assorted monsters that support Obama.
Vote McCain-Palin!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Muzzle-Freedom of Speech Bill.
It occurs to me that they might try and do this under some kind of “campaign finance reform” cover. They could claim that talk radio is advocacy that needs to come under the FEC. The basic concept would be the same - an opposing view must be presented - but with the FEC involved you could also get into the financial records, advertisng revenue and such and really make a mess. This would give the censors even more leverage to shut down Rush and the others. And there is a good chance that McCain would support the effort (there is no question that Hussein would).
