I was unimpressed with the entire debate. I kept telling the family that I would have loved to have been up there in Palen’s place. So many pitches down the middle could have been hit out of the park. The GOP is going to lose because they won’t take the initive to bring up the “real” Obama and the Democrat failures.

I’ve met many “Bidens” in my life. He just sounds like the stereotypical slimy huckster.

I thought Biden defensive, Palin convincing. She is smart, likable, you want to listen to what she has to say. I wish she was on the top of the ticket. Winner all the way. I hope the public listens to her, she could make some changes on wall street with help from John CcCain.

****I was disappointed Sarah was not more partisan****

Good breeding does that....it distinguishes the GOP from the DEMs. Unfortunately, there is no longer room for courteous discourse...just coarse in Congress now that the Dems are in charge again.

Decency didn’t help Trent Lott or Bill Frist - I hope McCain gets really crusty and cantakerous - really soon.

"Did I hear Joe Biden say that Obama has asked him to kind of stand over his shoulder to counsel him in the tough decisions...in a paternal fashion? Like Obama admits he doesn’t have the experience?"

Yes, I noticed that too.

"I was hoping to see more pit bull. I would have liked to see her address the role of the Democrats in causing the Freddie/Fannie crisis. I would like to hear McCain address that also, so maybe she was just following his lead."

That's where the problem is. McCain should cut her loose. I don't know if it is just me but she seemed to want to cut Obama and Biden to shreds.

I was at work when the debate was going on. I’m told that Sarah Palin turned in a solid but not stellar performance. Also, I heard that Joe Biden was adequate and made no gaffes, as we had hoped and his own party feared. If that’s true, we’ll get a small bounce.

Not that you need it, but I support and agree with your assessment as well. But I couch that by adding it's strictly limited to the presentation and her delivery, which frankly, grates on my nerves.

When she gave her speech at the convention, I thought it was excellent, compelling, refreshing.

For some reason, her delivery tonight, coupled with her frequently redirecting her answers to questions without specifically answering a given question, was irritating to me.

I understand that fact-checking would probably reveal that Biden is playing fast and loose with facts, and/or flat-out lying on several points -- but in my estimation, an unbiased viewer saw this exchange as one between an articulate, reasoned, substantive presentation by Biden --- and Palin's hodgepodge of cliches, catch phrases, nonanswer answers, and for lack of a better word, fluff.

It's probably lost on the vast majority of the audience, but Biden's philosophy was really laid bare at the outset, when talking about taxes, when he said "Where I come from, that's not redistribution -- that's called 'fair.'" Well Joe, where you come from, a steaming pile of crap may be called filet minon, but that doesn't make it anything other than a pile of crap.

Finally, I think that overall Biden had a much better ability to articulate the issues using objective details (false, fabricated, distorted as they may be); while Palin was basically floating a sparse collection of facts smothered in emoting.

Won’t the press be sorry if she decides to do live press conferences between now and election day?

It didn't matter - Sarah's words are still ringing in the ears of Americans - ORDINARY AMERICANS - they stopped listening to Joe when she said...

You are right about that. I had a hard time just looking at him but I felt a little sorry for him just hearing his lying statements. Just wish Zero's friends and all the corruption in his backyard could have been brought up.

“After the debate they are overwhelmingly PRO Palin and almost all said she won the debate!”

It is hard to listen to Gov. Palin and imagine here lying to you. Biden on the other hand... I could see every other word out of his mouth and being a lie. I think lots of peole sense the same thing.

She was the answer to my prayers.

In her own sweet wonderful way, Sarah reminds our country of what so many politicians have forgotten....or ignored.

It’s about those first 3 words in the PREAMBLE to our beloved Constitution...”We the People...” That’s what Sarah Palin is about... she’s about... all of us.

There was a missed opportunity tonight that McCain can still rectify. When Obama or Biden mention corporate taxes the response needs to be that since neither Obama or Biden have ever had a private sector job they probably don’t realize that just like the cost of rent, raw materials, transportation, labor, and insurance taxes and government regulation represent a cost to business too. And just like the other costs the costs of taxes and regulation are included into the cost of products and services and passed along to the customers. So....when governments raise taxes they raise the price of everything we buy.

You say you feel OBama is incompetent. I am less sure of OBama’s incompentency as I am his hidden agendas. I do not trust the man. He may be adequately competent to destroy America as we know it.
