Pretty opening today - I wish I had a goldfish pond deep enough for lilypads - they’re so pretty!
I also read that our PrissyMissy won Second Prize at the County Fair with her peppers! What a wonderful surprise - and fun that you didn't know beforehand!
That’s just gorgeous, Meg. Looks like rainbows, and down so low. :)
Oh, dita - how awesome is that! Thank you for sharing first pictures of one of God’s new creatures.
Thanks for the compliments! It is a unique sight.
Thank you, did not want to use something that I shouldn’t have.
Hi Majie.
We skipped the fair tonight and went to dinner instead.
We ate at the Red Lobster. Yummmmm ..... delicious.
How exciting, Dita.
I have always lived on a farm and watching the birth of any baby is an awesome experience. Thank you for sharing those pictures.
Great Story and Pix. Thanks for sharing.
Weddings are so much fun. We went to a wedding last Saturday. It was wonderful to see old friends and family that we had not seen for awhile.
I’m so happy that we didn’t lose this thread. I have the September 26, 2008 thread bookmarked so I can reference it on next month’s thread.
Thank you, Billie.
I’ve always wanted a fish pond. I don’t know why I’ve never had one. Guess I didn’t want one enough to get it taken care of. :)
Marissa’s gold fish died in July so now we have a beta; She named him Carl. Don’t ask me why?
It was fun not knowing beforehand about the ribbon. Marissa will be excited to bring it home from school on Monday. She was anxious to tell Uncle Just about it last night.
Now she has asked him about a dozen times if he will bring the kitten every time he comes for a visit. He did buy a carrier tonight. So who knows.
So far there was no problem with Mr Mittens. I think Mr Mittens decided the kitten wasn’t worth worrying about. He spends most of his time outdoors.
Good night, Dear Kitty Mittens. I hope all is well with you and yours.
Sweet dreams.
How neat! A great moment that you just happened upon. Those are among the best. And you recounted it so well!!
Thank you again, Dita! : )
‘Dita, I wanted to post a poem to you - a poem about the miracle of a calf’s birth. There was none. I will post my feelings, here:
Birth of a Calf
You know - I am a cow.
Nothing special, really
Just a cow
I was in a pen at a gathering
of many people
Don’t ask me how I got there
As I really don’t know
There was hay
I was standing on it
It would make a cushion
Now, why would I think that?
I knew I had to lay down
I couldn’t get comfortable
And all those people
Walking around
There was nowhere to hide
Nowhere to do
What nature told me to do
In private
One good push, and there she was!
She was beautiful!
I cleaned her
And she wiggled
I looked up
And, saw a person - a lady
She had seen
The whole thing
She was just inches away
And as I looked in her eyes,
For just a second
I knew - she had seen a miracle
The miracle of birth
Here is a photo of local Pizza Express which although from the menu etc is very much a Pizza Express they have still kept the character of the building.

Good morning to you.
