‘Dita, I wanted to post a poem to you - a poem about the miracle of a calf’s birth. There was none. I will post my feelings, here:
Birth of a Calf
You know - I am a cow.
Nothing special, really
Just a cow
I was in a pen at a gathering
of many people
Don’t ask me how I got there
As I really don’t know
There was hay
I was standing on it
It would make a cushion
Now, why would I think that?
I knew I had to lay down
I couldn’t get comfortable
And all those people
Walking around
There was nowhere to hide
Nowhere to do
What nature told me to do
In private
One good push, and there she was!
She was beautiful!
I cleaned her
And she wiggled
I looked up
And, saw a person - a lady
She had seen
The whole thing
She was just inches away
And as I looked in her eyes,
For just a second
I knew - she had seen a miracle
The miracle of birth
Awww, Yorkie, that is so special. Just beautiful, I got tears in my eyes.
Thank you so much. You made the cow someone with thoughts, I really love that. Her baby was so beautiful, and I kept telling her that, and telling her what a great job she did.
I would love to see them again, wish I had a barn that they lived in and I could visit them. *Sigh.*
Thank you so much for writing that and posting. I wish you could have been there too!!!! (((Hugs)))
I hope you all had the chance to read the poem that Yorkie wrote about the cow giving birth... in post 2537.
I know that I and some of the others there gawking had the same thoughts about how it might make the cow nervous. But, nature and the baby won out, and that’s how it happened!!
Anyway, (((Yorkie))) made it into a very memorable and touching poem!!
