tried both recipes and they are outstanding!
Tried them out at a small coffee and snack meeting of some biker buddies planning a last of the season trip and they ate everything and asked for more! Several of the wives badgered me for my ‘Old Family’ recipes and I traded them for some good recipes of their own. Many thanks for the recipes!
And as this is a poetry board,
Justice or Surrender
Bad boys raging against the machine
breaking the laws and turning mean
and society roils in accumulated pain
we have to ask is this the way of the sane?
A bad childhood seems to excuse it all
and still the victims struggle and fall
and the bad goes to worst and we just let it be
instead of standing up to seek justice we flee
As a boy I grew up with the idea so clear
of the tall tree and the short rope to fear
of retribution to acts of savage release
and giving to all some sense of real peace
now the inmates are running the asylum its clear
and justice is traded for acceptance without fear
and the victims keep falling and crime unabated
no matter how often the crack house is raided
we coddle in kindness the worst of the lot
those who killed, raped, and pillaged and fought
we give them weight rooms and tv and little sweat
and they take it all in and remain violent set
no chain gangs, no hard times, and little payback
for all those they killed and pillaged and sacked
equality granted that they’ve never earned
and still they laugh as laws they do spurn
So give you victims and stand in the line
and take it in silence say its just fine
but I will sure not, and you can be sure
bad boys will find me a savage old cur
Its time to remember the tall tree and short rope
and hammer the hell out of those criminal dopes
either get along and be law abiding at last
or be but a memory under a stone from the past
LOL. Great find, jaycee!
Mornin’ GeeBee!
You are just so smart to try both recipes. I would love to say I’ve tried one. I hope I can soon, except I have to watch my sugar, darn it!
Haven’t read the poem yet.
Have a wonderfuly day!
Drop the ‘y’ on wonderful...lol~post 2024....! No big deal.
Adorable! I keep hoping a stray kitten will show up here
so I can adopt it. I like “accidental” pets the best!
As did I. Only saw bits and pieces of each of them, but enough to be impressed all over again at her eloquence and her ability to connect with her audience. Never seen anyone quite so confident and unflappable. McCain sure did throw a curve at the left with his selection for VP. They have been in full melt-down from the day she stepped before the microphone at the convention. LOL.
What a wonderful way to be "busy". That made me smile. (((((MEG)))))

Mornin’ LUV. You’re lookin’ good in red this FRiday! Have a great day.
Good poem!
Thank you...and thank you!
You have a great weekend!
Thank you so much, Lori! Time really flies when you’re having fun, doesn’t it?
My husband was living during my first few years of Freeping and he knew how much I loved FR. By the way, his initials were FRC. Isn’t that good?
Darling graphic, Lori!
Granny, I Love the Story you Posted; it's One of the Neatest Ones I've ever Read.
Mornin’ MB.
Thanks for the beautiful POW/MIA presentation. Seems my glasses or monitor get all blurry everytime I read The Missing Man text.
Busy, busy day tomorrow. Starting out with a Veteran’s Group get-together at church in the morning discussing the Veteran’s Day program scheduled on Nov 9th. A veteran’s choir has been formed to sing two songs... “Eternal Father, Strong to Save (Navy Hymn) and “Mansions of the Lord.” So far, about 50 vets are signed up for the choir (been practicing the bass part). Hope to get one of our daughters to video the service.
Speaking of daughters, our youngest has a birthday which we will celebrate at the race track in the afternoon. SIL is in first place in his division for the season. Tommorrow’s 2 races complete the season so we’ll be cheering him on.
Gotta go bake some birthday cupcakes... wonder if I can find a RED apron to wear?!?
Have a GREAT weekend.
