Meg, thanks for giving us a little more insight as to what's going on with your daughter's situation after Ike. I hope they didn't lose a lot of food from the refrigerator & freezer. Know that's going to be a yucky job to take care of when they get power again and can start cleaning up.
Our thoughts and prayers continue for all the victims of Ike, and I realize that some have literally lost their homes, some have lost loved ones, as well as animals. It's heartbreaking. :(

Thank you, Billie.
I had trouble with the AF Birthday. Every graphic I wanted to use was huge. I couldn’t get them reduced enough; finally decided to change direction. LOL
Your kind words made my day. Thank you.

Apple dumplings....yum! (I’ve made them, but it’s been a long time.) Thanks for the recipes - may have to make some again. It’s funny, but the CBS morning show had Paula Dean on, and guess what she was cooking?! APPLE DUMPLINGS! :)

How pretty! Love the brightly colored mums in that pewter pitcher!

The flowers in the opening post are fuschias. They grow wild in Ireland/are used for hedgerows. They dont fare well heretoo hot and humid. :( Thanks for answering my question. They are the prettiest things!

Lovely Post, Amy and Billie, and those are the Prettiest Flowers in your Graphic! Sending Wishes to Everyone for a Beautiful Day. Thank you, Kitty. How pretty your sparkling pink roses are!
I saw this the other day and thought of you, so decided it would BE you. :)

**Thats another favorite of mine..My grandparents did not live in a log cabin..but the picture still evokes memories of visits to their farm as a child..and grandmother having flowers..watered by hand.**
Mine either, but we had an old log cabin on the farm where I grew up. We used it for a barn. My grandma lived in a little camper trailer at the back of our yard. I spent a lot of time, both in the barn and in her flower beds. Great memories!

Good day to you, as well! Love the animal print!

I didn’t ask..They always have a full freezer. They did get water in the sunken living room..had to bail out several gallons.
There are others who are in far worse shape indeed..and mourning losses of family and friends, houses ..and pets.
This storm was so large. I caught up with the news yesterday and have yet to check today..The death toll may be larger as days go on.
Wondering about lonestar..I know she went to her brother’s in College Station..but no updates.
