The flowers in the opening post are fuschias. They grow wild in Ireland/are used for hedgerows. They don’t fare well here—too hot and humid. :(

Thanks to Nora Roberts for the info about Ireland—it was in one of her books! We have grown fuschias here, in hanging baskets, but they hate it.
