I think she will get a lot of foregin policy experience in the next 4 years if McCain wins as I suspect there maybe many overseas trips for her.

This would set up to run in 4 years time if McCain feel or the GOP feel he is too old for a second term.

LOL I think Morris may well say Hilliary has miscalculated now with Palin pick as in 4 years if all goes well with McCain she would be an obvious choice for the Republicans if McCain does not stand again and personally on the back of a successful 4 years I do not think a mid 60 year old Hilliary would stand a chance against a nearly 50 year old Palin.

It's funny, but when we vote "pro-Life" we're accused by the left of being a one issue voter.

On the other hand Obama, Kennedy, and others on the left voted against Judge Roberts because he was pro-life, yet they don't see the hypocrisy in their one issue vote.

That's why I think this was a brilliant move.

The mantra that we deserve a woman as President would be awash if Palin is poised to run for the presidency.

Sour dough and English muffins are different to me. I like the muffins and often have one for breakfast though I was actually bought up to have them at teatime like crumpets though with changing likestyles both of these are now considered breakfast items even here in good old blighty.

I, too, am ECSTATIC! At least as ecstactic as I can be in my washed-out drugged-up state. I WILL be supporting and voting for SARAH PALIN!!!! And if this is the kind of choice that McCain makes, if it typifies his selections, then I have much more confidence that he'll be a good president.

I'm bringing this over from the weekly thread:

I love your silly jokes. I especially loved your basket of flowers and I HOPE that you will not CHANGE.

Love, love

And to answer y'alls questions before you ask, yes, I am feeling much better. I'm betting my migraine was prolonged by me not getting long blocks of sleeping time. I am still very weak. I'm a bit light-headed. And I am now experience a type of "pressure" pain in my right kidney. There. /health update

Blinkered I think is the term not do as I do but do as I say could be another.

I think they are so indoctrinated with their views they do not see the other point of view unless they are cirtizing their opponents.

The sad thing is they believe in most cases what they say, you could see it in the eyes of the people in Invesco Field it was sad to see.

Well put with your posts, snugs. My thought is that the Clintons will privately be holding out that the anointed fraud loses. If McCain wins, he may or may not decide to run in 2012 because of age. If he does, fine. And a McCain win in 2012 will give Palin a total of 8 years of executive (and who knows what else she will be involved in that will give her tremendous experience) experience. If McCain decides to retire in 2012, we have Palin (and an excellent field of VP picks) and maybe she will be running against Hillary, or maybe someone else. If Palin demonstrates her ability to handle the position, as I believe she will, we will have our candidate in 2012, and it will be her election to lose.

Sure didn't help their predicicted bounce

What bounce? From what I was reading, they weren't getting any and I suspect that McCain got a BIG bounce from this. I haven't seen any poll numbers, though.

Yes indeed I like Palin ever since she was first mooted here on FR months and months ago even before she had the baby I have been following her in the news and on the Internet.

It is amazing how much of the British media is devoted to this election, I am sure more than the previous one yet dad says years ago it was like this and then it seemed to get less but now back with avengance. Our cable news station covered the announcement live, dad watched that in the front room and I watched FNC in the living room.

Oh, Jem, I am so happy to hear of your excitement! Yes, McCain, in making a choice like this, is demonstrating an ability to move in our direction.

Regardless of how we anticipate how he would act as president, the alternative is so dangerous that I could pull the lever for McCain even without Sarah Palin.

I agree as well with the no bounce. It didn’t materialize, but it sure is heck off the table now with the selection of Palin.

Good morning from Denver! My son called me while we were on our way to Breckenridge yesterday with the news, and I am thrilled. The more I learn about Sarah Palin, the better she looks. Blue collar background, fantastic family, reformer, speaks exceptionally well, pro-life, pro-2nd amendment, tax cutter, beauty queen, commercial fisherman, her husband is a steelworker union member, flute player, etc.

Some blogger quoted on Fox said this might turn out to be like the Harriet Meiers pick. BOO! HISS!

I think this was brilliant, and I think the democrats are in total panic mode. Life is good!

Totally new. Caught me off guard and right out of the blue. The first symptom that I had came Tuesday night almost at 1800. All of a sudden I began shivering and shaking and my teeth were chattering. I had goose bumps all over. My hands and wrists were tingling and even my finger nails were very slightly dusky.

I got in a tub of hot water and although my shaking wasn’t over my temp soared to 102.7 F in about 10 minutes.

To me, those are malaria symptoms.

Cutting to the chase, it wasn’t malaria. It took well over 24 hours though for that to be diagnosed.

ACK - he was trumped by the smug rudeness of Mort Kondracke. Mort’s approval rating hit the floor for me yesterday. I actually thought he was a nice guy...oh no, he’s not.
