Jindal is laying it all out there, sounds like a lot, a really large lot of assistance is coming from other states, Nat’l Guard, ambulances etc...many states taking patients in their hospitals, shelters. He has tons of rescue teams lined up as well. man he talks fast:)
That’s the last really bad storm we had here before the one in 1960,Donna, which took all the water out of Fla. Bay and then it came back.
Darkest shaded zone is 24' (<28'). In the Keys, by about 2 A.M. Sunday morning you should begin to notice waves increaing to 4', steadily increasing and you may see them as high as 15' for a short period of a couple hours between sunrise to noonish. Waves should rapidly diminish thereafter.
Wow really interesting,great concepts there.
Belated thanks for the update. Took a rainy afternoon siesta...
A guy from the weather channel on TV said there is little shear in the gulf, very warm water, and his model shows it hitting as a cat 4.
contraflow evac routes in LA start at 0400 Sunday going west and north per Gov. Jindal.
That’s so interesting. I took a minute to read up on mangrove forests & what they do. Hurricane Andrew must have been some force to flatten whole groves like that.
This link says a tidal surge of 15-20 feet. The Weather Channel just announced a tidal surge in Cuba of 23 feet, that is almost incomprehensible a wall of water 23 feet and then put a wave on top of it. Wow scary as hell.
He sounds very bright and articulate
It is already happening. The hapless and helpless are being led by the hand out of harm's way. The MSM is a broken record asking if the RNC will cancel the convention.
wow!Lucky we dodged this one.

How long have you been covering these storms, how do you do it!
This is the worst the storm surge should get for NO, and Gulfport to Mobile coast (approx sunrize Monday morning).
Darkest red shaded zone is 28' (<35')
Thanks for all that much appreciated!
