Can someone help?
Good morning. If I keep saying that, maybe it will be.
Oh, yes. Being cheerful is not so much being lucky enough to be blessed with that much good fortune, as it is in having a habit of responding that way.
After you've pretended to be unfailingly cheerful for several decades, you can convince most people that you really are.
I thought you were a professional intimidating curmudgeon, Bob. I got the laundry sorted, at least.
But it’s so difficult to find enough professionals to intimidate.
Besides, some talents just come naturally.
There’s a cricket on the wall next to the picture of the Pope. I’d better go make a lizard happy!
I sort my laundry, too. There are just two groups I use: dirty and clean. Guess which one is winning?

The Mods make mistakes from time to time. Not trying to excuse this, but it does happen.
Had a brief exchange with Admin Moderator. It seems Monkey Face neglected to don the necessary “/sarc” sark while on post. She’ll be back in a couple of days.
If sionnsar has it right — and I saw the same double-post he quoted — then there’s no basis for what happened other than an itchy “zot” finger.
There’s some possibility, I guess, that the actual offending post might have been deleted, and thus no longer visible to us mere mortals, but I don’t get the sense that that is the case; I think what we’ve seen is what spurred the micro-zotting.
In any event, what’s done is done, and ‘Face is enjoying playing “lurker” for awhile, though she is suffering withdrawals and eagerly anticipating her restoration to our fellowship.
I chanced to go down a few levels this morning, and found that the zombies have forged a fuzzy truce with the dust bunnies. I think they’ve got some kind of party in the planning stages, but they hustled me back upstairs before I could glean anything beyond that.
Reporting in alive after our inland hurricane.
IKE came up the Mississippi to join up with a cold front droppping down from Canada...They merged right over my head.
Metro area with 270K out of power. Many, many old trees are dead . Many on top of houses and cars. 1000+ pleasure boats sunk.
Only 1 death so far...Prayers lifted.
Oh, dear!
Sometimes a vacation “to” reality can be good for people. I had email from ‘Face yesterday, and she seemed to be handling it reasonably well, with help from catz.
We saw pictures of your area on the world news last night. I’m glad you are alive and well. Prayers are lifted for everyone who lives in that area. Keep in touch.

That was not the triggering post — both ‘Face and the Admin provided brief descriptions of the post that really caused it: their descriptions agreed with each other and not with this.

Ah, good; that at least restores some of my faith that there’s method to the madness. I’ve been in occasional need of shoring up ever since The Great Guliani RINO Purge of 2007.
60% of town was without power..They have managed to get 100K back on in the past days.
Ours was out for a short time today while they lifted branches off badly sagging lines..
Thanks for the prayers.
I’m glad you’re back in the 21st century! I need to have my Boy Scouts do an emergency preparedness project before winter arrives here. I’ve been relying on Divine Providence, which is a good plan on the big issues but not on steady electrical supply.
I had bottled water but not bottled electricity..
Yeah, that’s a big thing.
