Hi everyone,
I'm just wondering if anyone had this experience before. I wrote a column about the proof of the existence of a Divine Creator (see http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-religion/2029192/posts ) and am now getting google stalked by an Atheist Group in Austin, in addition to phone calls and emails.
I'm not going to stop saying/writing what I believe or stop speaking out against these tactics, but was wondering if anyone here had experience and knows what to do about google, etc. I know some of us may disagree on the issues, but I don't think there's much debate about these tactics.
The full story of what happened is available here: http://creationistsearcher.wordpress.com/2008/06/15/on-the-lies-and-harassment-tactics-of-martin-wagner-and-russell-glasser/
“If” the Bible is true, there are too many implications for everyone that they’d rather put their heads in the sand then face up to the changes they’d need to make to “get right”.
What would be worse, believing in the Biblical truth and then, after you die, well, NOT finding out that it wasn’t?
Or denying that it’s true then finding out that it is?
What are you gonna miss out on? Being a slave to your hedonism? Having to exhibit some self control? You still have your free will.
And, in case you don’t think you could ever live up to the perfection that God demands... He provided a solution to that too.
Can one of your Brahmas, sages, saints, rishis,
devas, celestials, and divine beings become a
substitute as Jesus did on the cross when He took
our punishment for sins?
While Brahma makes you repeat your life over and
over again until you get it right. Jesus died once for ALL,
then rose again. Over 500 were eyewitness to this. Some
lost their lives because they would not recant.
This HIStory is recorded not only in the Bible, but in
Roman and Jewish literature as well.
No greater love hath a man than one who lay down his life
for another. (John 15:3)
Has Brahma demostrated that kind of love for you?
With Jesus I am a partner. He is my friend. I know Him
through His Word which I have studied for nearly 30 years.
In that time I have read the Bible cover to cover nearly
25 times and have yet to find a contradiction.
I am not RELIGIOUS. I am in an intimate RELATIONSHIP
with the Creator of the Universe. Can you say the same?
[... And, in case you dont think you could ever live
up to the perfection that God demands... He provided a
solution to that too...]
AMEN! Praise God for the redeeming and finished
work of the cross of Jesus Christ. Amen and Amen!
OR the verses that speak of the earth being a globe hanging in nothingness..
written at a time when man couldn't possibly have known that.. when a flat earth seemed reasonable and 'scientific'.. and quite logical..
[... OR the verses that speak of the earth being a globe hanging in nothingness (and) written at a time when (snip) a flat earth seemed logical, reasonable and ‘scientific’...]
Yup! That too!
Thanks for the help.
Fiction MUST be logical, reality has no such demands..
1. Do Biblical Archeologists rely on the Bible as a locater for ancient sites?
2. Did Armand Hammer discover oil in the middle east right where the Bible said it would be.
3. The streams in the oceans were written about way before ancient mariners discovered the ocean currents.
4. The geneologies can be traced to real people.
5. The ancient cities that Paul traveled to in the New Testament were said to not exist. ALL have been unearthed.
Small potatoes.
Where is the evidence for a global flood ca. 4,350 years ago?
[... Where is the evidence for a global flood ca. 4,350 years ago? ...]
Er... The Grand Canyon comes to mind.
Er... The Grand Canyon comes to mind.
Sorry, no. Recent estimates are 17 million years. You missed by quite a margin.
[... You (Coyoteman) have been informed and reinformed many times
over about why your footing for your belief in gradualism is slippery...]
Dave... YOU RAWK!!!
Excellent post!
Thanks, my friend.
If you want I’ll forward you some emails. Obviously can’t give you the phone calls, but if you’d like to come by and hear messages I have those too.
And that’s aside from the crass allegations that are totally untrue and were designed as a personal hit at the same time the person making them did what he alleged I had done to him and worse.
As far as other posts:
Sadly, Hindu beliefs/legends are confined to that group. But the flood? It is legend/oral history in nearly EVERY civilization.
"Cultures around the world record a world-destroying flood in their oral or written histories. Dr. John Morris wrote regarding the existence of a past worldwide flood the following: 'One of the strongest evidences for the global flood which annihilated all people on Earth except for Noah and his family, has been the ubiquitous presence of flood legends in the folklore of people groups from around the world. And the stories are all so similar.'
Today 60% of Americans accept as true the Biblical account of the Great Flood,[2] and the olive branch returned by a dove to the Ark after the Flood is universally recognized as a symbol of peace."
That came from http://www.conservapedia.com/Great_Flood as it is entirely too early in the morning (or late at night, I can't decide which) for me to form a coherent post with proper spelling, grammar, etc.
All of life involves faith. Even those poor souls who choose to turn their backs on their creator. If you've ever made plans for the future, said "See ya later!" or put money in a child's college fund you've got faith.
The simple question is not whether faith exists within you, it's whether or not you've the courage to look beyond yourself to the loving, merciful God. Science looks at a bird fallen in death and sees....well nothing special. But my Father...
Matthew Chapter 6:26 26 Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
Chapter 10:29-31. 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. 30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.
Their actions are also demonstrating the validity or your acticle as you described their reaction as "involves an emotional challenge for them" [or perhaps their actions are enhancing your article with absolutely funny understatement humor].
Soliton, you can’t possibly be this much of a socially autistic numbskull offline, can you?
I'm an organic chemist, and know that the whole "Miller-Urey lightning making amino acids" argument - which the evolutionary materials rely upon as their argument for how life began - is complete and unadulterated nonsense.
What's ironic is that Soliton probably has a business degree or something, and his scientific knowledge, such as it is, is limited to rah-rah pro-evolution books he picked up at Barnes and Noble.
