I was glad to hear about the little Ortega boys. I hadn’t seen a lot of t.v. today and did not hear about it until you posted it! Thanks~~
You are Both So Kind-Heated, Jaycee and ‘Dita; Thank you for your Comments about the Downpour of Rain, and ‘Dita, the Experience you had Sounded Scarey, but Thank God the Driver Pulled Over. My Experience was Wierd; there were People Actually still Racing their Cars Around in the Storm; I was Incredulous; they must be Pros at Driving in Heavy Downpours!
This is Excellent News, 'Dita, and I'll Go and Read the Link you Posted. Thank You, Lord, for Your Mercies!
Driving in storms like that, or even in a mild rain, you need to not only decide what you will do but also know what the other drivers are doing!! The ones that speed in rain are not thinking of others!!
I love greens and blues, and tend to stick with them. Water colors, appropriate for an Aquarius! Not that I belive overly in such signs, but I’ve always been a water person. Turn me loose in a creek or at the ocean and I am content!
Local TV just aired the live press conference, showing the grandfather with the two boys!! I hope they will be able to live peacefully and safely from here on out. Their Mommy’s condition is still critical and who knows what her future will be like.
The ocean is my favorite place....don’t get to go much anymore but hubby and I took our yearly vacation at Myrtle Beach! We started going there when our oldest son was real little. Not much at the beach then and it was wonderful...now it rocks all the time, but I still like to go there! And eat seafood everyday!
We live off Newport River, close to Morehead City, NC. Don’t get to the beach much, but our house is right on the marsh and we can take the boat and run out our gut, be out in the river in a few minutes, the Intracoastal in a few more, and Bogue Sound or the ocean in a few more. Nothing like a day on the water. I don’t go out as much as my guys do—can’t take the heat anymore—but I love it. Love seafood, too! Mine—not much on eating something at a restaurant that I can cook better, and know where it came from! Had some fresh caught shrimp the other night for supper—yummy! Never been to Myrtle Beach. A lot of my friends go for the shows.
I thought Morehead City was right on the beach. Pretty close, I guess!
When we went to Myrtle Beach, it was fun going out to eat. We did get some delicious seafood there!
I have been on a kick lately with scallops and shrimp. I get the fresh ones at the grocery store. They are easy for me to fix for one and so delicious. I saute’ them in a bit of oil, butter, garlic, salt, pepper, (pakrika for color only) and I can have them ready in ten minutes after they are rinsed and drained. My side veggie is usually asparagus...
How did you fix your shrimp the other night....breaded and fried?...I love them that way!
WE were in a hurry and they were fresh, so we just boiled them, shells on, then peeled them. When they are fresh like that, the shells are soft, almost impossible to get off. After you freeze them, the shells get hard and it’s much easier to peel them.
These are the brown summer shrimp. We’ll try to load up the freezer in the fall when the greentails come through. They taste even better! I do love them fried!
Scallops and shrimp and asparagus! Ummm! Ever tried spoonbread with your seafood?
Morehead is right on the sound. Ocean, barrier island, sound, mainland, river, more mainland. Water, land, water, land, water...you get the picture. We’re on the other side of the river from Morehead, close enough that we cna hear the highschool band practicing if the wind is right.
Milewise, we’re about 3 miles or less from the ocean. Road wise, it’s a good 30 min drive.
I gotta go to bed, too! Enjoyed talking with you! NIght!
Today has been a busy one for me ... don’t know why except for a dental appt for cleaning.
I’m exhausted ... I needed a nap yesterday and didn’t get one and had hoped for one today. No such luck.
Marissa started Vacation Bible School yesterday.
I will try to get back after I get some rest. Sorry I’ve been absent so much of late. : (
I love being out on the water; it’s a special place:).
I am near Marina del Rey (CA) and have sailed in Santa Monica Bay.
We missed you Amy, but you need your rest.
The days are longer and you think you can do more.
Also, FR has been running slow and attendance has been down.

OH my goodness! PRAISE GOD !~ PRAISE YOU FATHER~~
Thank you for letting me know LaEn...I haven’t had the news on at all today.

Thanks Polly. It definitely felt good to see those kids back here. The 3 yr old was really snuggling up to his Grand-papa. They are glad to be back. Yes, Praise God.
Thank you for the beautiful flowers, Cardhu.
LOL
Boy do I understand. I try to stay out of the candy aisle when at the supermarket.
