Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Luke 14: 27-30:
And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?
Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,
Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.
Ah, one of them KJV only people I see. :-)
Gad. Zooks. I’m wiped out. Of the hundreds of times I’ve taken this very same flight this was the worst. Ever. I think I actually could have driven to from SEA to SFO faster.
Just now got to my hotel. I guess air travel over the country came to a screeching halt or something today. Tstorms and tornado warnings at O’Hare closed it down. Evacuated the tower. Out here they’re telling us that pretty much the whole midwest shut down. The plane for my flight was stuck at ORD most of the day. Then they finally boarded us, and a bunch of seats were empty that were supposedly full. Then they moved this whole planeload of some tourgroup from China from a cancelled LAX flight to ours so we got to sit and wait while 30 or 40 of them found the plane and got situated. That took an hour.
An hour.
So... All’s well that ends well. [sigh]
I’m gonna be a mess tomorrow. Good thing my big meeting isn’t until Wednesday.
[sip]
MmmmMmmm.... that sounds mighty fine.
Well that's not good - prayers and hugs and best wishes coming your way!
I got to go on travel last week and made a discovery: I *LOVE* taking my own vehicle. The travel location was within driving distance and so I drove. It was lovely. I had my GPS, my tunes on the i-Pod, Rush on the radio. It was my car, full of my stuff, with MY cooties. Totally relaxing. I loved it. Maybe not so much if I had to do it every week, but it certainly was a treat.
I'm on travel all next week. Heading out to my favorite patch of desert again.
They had tornado warning sirens going off at Wrigley field last night and after the rain delay players still were ducking at lightening strikes. The game was called in the eighth. You know it’s going to be bad when the play-by-play guy is reporting a green sky.
Somebody put up this thread in literature: “PAULINE BAYNES: QUEEN OF NARNIA AND MIDDLE-EARTH”. “http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/2056321/posts “ .
It is about a famous illustrator of C. S. L:ewis and J. R. R. Tolkien books who just passed away. I added it to the hobbit hole topic.
I recommend taking symptons seriously. I didn’t, and only have one leg as a result. Too much risk of downside in this sort of thing.
What do you think of Hassenpfeffer for the rabbits? The Germans are good at stews.
Hassenpfeffer recipe (main ingrediants rabbit, onions, wine, wine vinegar):

One of you, or both of you?
For good, or just temporary?
Ack... Praise the Lord, my job is fine. I don’t even want to think how bad it would be if both of us were out of work.
You got freepmail.
Happy Birthday a day early to Matthew. Wow...13...ach is right. Thegirl is right behind him. It’s unbelievable.
Let us know how Thursday goes. You old people have to take care of yourselves. :-)
My kids hate not having school, so we’re starting back up.

Dang...just dang. Here’s to finding a new and improved job!
Mrsnad
Strange kids lol.
No problem here. The language is beautiful.
I have all their stuff ready except for the first set of satellite recordings...I figured once I got those, then we'd start.
So I go in the living room and Matthew already has his English worktext out and is working on it. I told “PUT THAT UP! I don't want to start yet!”
Heh heh...I was just kidding and he knew it and ignored me.
I just really like summer.
Indeed...especially when read aloud.
Nana used to pray in the “King James.” It was the language she learned in church. It’s beautifully written and great for reading. I just prefer some of the other translations for clarity.
And, just as a side topic, we watched “The Other Boleyn Girl” last week. It’s amazing what impact two British Kings had on the face of the church and on history in general.
