Gad. Zooks. I’m wiped out. Of the hundreds of times I’ve taken this very same flight this was the worst. Ever. I think I actually could have driven to from SEA to SFO faster.
Just now got to my hotel. I guess air travel over the country came to a screeching halt or something today. Tstorms and tornado warnings at O’Hare closed it down. Evacuated the tower. Out here they’re telling us that pretty much the whole midwest shut down. The plane for my flight was stuck at ORD most of the day. Then they finally boarded us, and a bunch of seats were empty that were supposedly full. Then they moved this whole planeload of some tourgroup from China from a cancelled LAX flight to ours so we got to sit and wait while 30 or 40 of them found the plane and got situated. That took an hour.
An hour.
So... All’s well that ends well. [sigh]
I’m gonna be a mess tomorrow. Good thing my big meeting isn’t until Wednesday.

I got to go on travel last week and made a discovery: I *LOVE* taking my own vehicle. The travel location was within driving distance and so I drove. It was lovely. I had my GPS, my tunes on the i-Pod, Rush on the radio. It was my car, full of my stuff, with MY cooties. Totally relaxing. I loved it. Maybe not so much if I had to do it every week, but it certainly was a treat.
I'm on travel all next week. Heading out to my favorite patch of desert again.
They had tornado warning sirens going off at Wrigley field last night and after the rain delay players still were ducking at lightening strikes. The game was called in the eighth. You know it’s going to be bad when the play-by-play guy is reporting a green sky.
It has been a bad summer for thunderstorms. It's the lack of sunspots. I just dread this winter; I'm afraid the snows will be frequent and heavy, and us without our snowthrower!
