Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
I’m so sorry to hear this, Corin. You can take comfort knowing that she’s in a better place.
I’m so proud of you, my friend...you did the right thing by Nana...as best you could.
Thanks everyone. We’ve just had the first of several long evenings talking things over with the siblings (save the brother who almost never visited who will be offended that things were decided while he wasn’t here). The family dramas are unfolding. More will come.
I’m sorry to be so late...you have our condolences and prayers.

That. Is. So. Neat!!!!! Thanks for the tidbit!
Indeed. Sorry to hear that's starting so soon. Here's a giant "ARGH!!!" on your behalf. And continued prayers.
We'd expect nothing less!
Seriously, though, take care of yourself.
Wish me luck...gonna try to ride to work for the first time today. And I’ve not been on the bike at all, so it’s gonna hurt. I figure if I’m really in trouble, I’ll turn around and come back and drive in, and just count it as a nice morning ride.
I’m scared of traffic and every tricksy turn all over again. *sigh* And it never really gets easy. It’s like merging on the interstate: I get to the point where I feel like I’m more likely to make it than to die trying, but that’s about it. Fun.
Good morning! I'm sipping Starbucks decaf coffee...the last bit from the packets my mom got when they stayed in the fancy hotel here over Mother's Day.
Good luck!
I am vaguely considering whether it’s possible to bike to work myself. I’m leaning toward no...
I was going to check out Karen's website last night, but started watching the last half of "The Andromeda Strain". It was pretty good, but it was like Star Trek IV, in that the danger was from the future, and it involved a plot twist that environmentalists would love.
With the price of ammo what it is we are planning to get set up for reloading soon. Since we would want to do 45acp, 9mm, and .223 just for starters then I am leaning toward a going right for the full progressive loader. But I am not sure yet.
Mmm...coffee...
We still need to get a coffee pot for work. As it is, if I ride, I don’t have an easy way to carry coffee. I could get a thermos, I guess...but it’d be easier to just make coffee here.
Today, I have a free card for the deli downstairs, so I get to have a mocha. ;-)
Made it! I pretty much had all the mishaps I totally missed out on last year (fell, had someone almost hit me, ran over enough glass that I may have a flat at quitting time...), but...the rest of it was pretty nice. It’s a long ride, though, no getting around that.
Now I’m hungry. Whur’s breakfast?
Glad you got there ok!
We bought shoes last night so I’m walking around in a nice new pair of sneakers. Ahh...
One of the other gals in the office rode in, too! Good for her! This started ‘cause she was talking yesterday about trying it, and I got all wistful about it. ;-)
I have to start doing that. Considering how close to work I live there is really not reason not to. Well except getting lunch. I should bring that with me anyway.
Half an hour is enough time to leave...
...this laying around.
