It should be a fun little plinker but as it is I am just not use to heavier recoils and it gets un-fun real fast. The problem is it weights nothing and my next biggest rifle is a 7.62. Which has not much recoil. Either I am a huge wimp or I keep getting +p ammo by accident or both. Thanks for the info. I will have to put some SP through it and see. I love the way it handles so I would like to get more practice with it.

We were at the range the other day with a bunch of friends most of which are pretty new or totally new to guns. We had a whole spread for them to try including 10/22s, ARs and my AK. But every one gravitated to the Henry Golden Boy that a friend brought. Even over the M-4s. Bah! hehe. Now I need one. Love the lever guns and that one sure has a smooth action. Too bad they only make the youth length on the non-golden model because Jen would prefer that length. After going shooting with us a few times our friend got that one as his first firearm and I must say it was a stellar choice.

Remember TDJ that you can have a good gunsmith cut that golden model down too same size as youth model. Shortening the barrel and or stock is a simple operation for a competent smithy !

Good luck !!
