Dont tell me the Airlines are going to start operating like Amtrak!!! I am afraid so, and I am seriously not happy about them messing up my carefully planned itinerary. I spent days working out every detail and now it's completely messed up. *sigh*. At least they have us flying on the same days, but they've added a stop in SLC AND given us only TWO minutes between flights. This is just ridiculous!
I booked this through Orbitz and have always had a good experience with them, but I don't think this is Orbitz doing, it's Delta. They are cancelling and switching around flights. The entire airline industry seems to be in turmoil right now. Trying to save money on fuel costs is one of the big issues, I think. Flights that they think may not fully book are being cancelled with little concern about the inconvience to their customers.

Today is National Crepe Suzette Day .......... Our second source says it is also Beverage Day. Alrighty! I will take a Crepe Suzette and a Mimosa..... how's that? Wait......make it two Mimosas. I need to get my attitude adjusted for this call I need to make to Orbitz. LOL

If there are only 2 minutes between flights, they will probably be making more changes. Once I had a flight with only 15 minutes between flights. I tried to book online and was not able to. Reason ..... not enough time between connecting flight.
I think the travel industry is in turmoil right now. I wonder if I should call Amtrak about how late the trains are running. I wonder if they will tell me the truth.

Well, I sure hope your future Amtrak experiences go much better than your last one. What a nightmare!
I wonder if they will tell me the truth.
LOL. Probably not. But, I get the feeling that they just don't care much. It is what it is and I guess you can get upset about it or not, it isn't going to matter to them and it sure isn't going to make the trains run on time.
You are probably right about more changes to our flight schedule. A two minute plane change is not possible. But what really irritates me is that they don't even ASK if they can switch our flight. I liked our itinerary as I had it worked out, they confirmed those flights....now they are moving us to different flights. It would be like us telling our customers, "yeah, we know you ordered that pose, and we know we agreed, but then we decided to give you this pose instead. It works out better for us, so deal with it." That would really go over well, wouldn't it? LOL. I am trying to keeping LOLing over this, but it ain't easy.
Oh, well, there are bigger problems in the world. This is a minor inconvenience. We'll deal with it. :-)

Changing your flight is surely a mystery to me. I suppose it could be a result of all the merging going on. The stop in Atlanta is no mystery however. We on this side of the Mississippi have always known that you can't even go to Heaven without going through Atlanta.
I hate for them to dork up your plans. Tell them I shall pronounce a curse upon them if they get too uppity (not the planes, just the people who make arbitrary decisions).
You will really enjoy the riverboat, and yes, I will sneak you in with my group. Maybe I can talk my boss into letting me be Katie Ulen on the tour that day. I can hardly wait.

It may be an inconvenience but We, the consumer, have schedules. If they leave you in an airport for an extra 24 hours because they've canceled flights, it screws up the rest of your itinerary. It is then more than an inconvenience.
I hope you let them know what you think of this way of doing business.

Absolutely nothing is going to ruin this trip to Boston and West Virginia......not even Delta. LOL. I can't wait for our vacation. I am going to look at every bump in the road as an exciting adventure and, I'm not sure how I going to accomplish this but, my husband is going to have the same attitude. ;-)

Mimosa Gelée
Keep tightly covered with plastic wrap, and garnish just before serving.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups chilled Champagne or sparkling wine
2 (1/4-oz.) envelopes unflavored gelatin
2 1/2 cups orange juice
1 (8-oz.) jar orange blossom honey
Garnishes: orange segments, mint sprigs
Preparation:
1. Pour Champagne into a large bowl. Sprinkle gelatin over Champagne. Set aside.
2. Heat orange juice and honey in a small saucepan over medium-high heat 3 minutes or until well blended and thoroughly heated.
3. Add hot juice mixture to Champagne mixture, and stir 5 minutes or until gelatin dissolves. Pour mixture evenly into 8 Champagne flutes, and chill 3 hours or until set. Garnish, if desired.
Happy Beverage Day!!
I think you'll need a spoon. ;^)

I hope you let them know what you think of this way of doing business. Oh, yes, they are going to know that we don't like they way they are running their business, but I am going to try real hard not to let it ruin our vacation because, bottom line is, there isn't much we can do about it.....so, we'll just go with the flow and make the best of it. :-)

A spoon I've got. Thanks, Amy. Now I need to get to work around here. I woke up with a burst of energy and I need to put it to good use before it disappears.

Some of the FReepers from the Canteen will be here (at my home) for breakfast Friday morning. I am fixing a big ham, pancakes and bloody marys and screwdrivers. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. Mimosas sound good too! Looks like I’ll have to get some champagne! Thanks for the idea!
