Oh, give us pleasure in the flowers today; And give us not to think so far away As the uncertain harvest; keep us here All simply in the springing of the year.
Oh, give us pleasure in the orcahrd white, Like nothing else by day, like ghosts by night; And make us happy in the happy bees, The swarm dilating round the perfect trees.
And make us happy in the darting bird That suddenly above the bees is heard, The meteor that thrusts in with needle bill, And off a blossom in mid air stands still.
For this is love and nothing else is love, To which it is reserved for God above To sanctify to what far ends he will, But which it only needs that we fulfill.
Robert Lee Frost

Looks like even back then San Francisco had a reputation for flower-bedecked fiesta queens..

Very nice treatment. I like it. Well, she is such a precious little girl, she deserved a pretty, flowery graphic treatment to accompany grandpa's poem. :-)

“The definition of success—
To laugh much;
to win respect of intelligent persons and the affections of children;
to earn the approbation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;
to appreciate beauty;
to find the best in others;
to give one's self;
to leave the world a little better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition.;
to have played and laughed with enthusiasm, and sung with exultation;
to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived—
this is to have succeeded.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Beautiful "dogwood?" trees, Meg.
That graphic looks so peaceful. Thank you!
Hope your day is filled with sunshine.

Aw, thank you, Amy. That is so cute:)
Hope everything is just great over your way too. I’m off and running for a few hours. BBL.

I am trying to guess the kind of tree also... maybe redbud or cherry? Not something we have out here, I think. Lovely scene, peaceful river:)
We do have jacaranda trees in full bloom. I can’t find pics to do justice to the experience of seeing them in 3-D.

Thank you for sharing the Definition of Success by Ralph Waldo Emerson.
Great advice there.
Have a lovely day, Yorkie.

The white blooming tree looks like a dogwood but I don’t recognize the pink blossoms.
