Is Battlestar Galactica being sacreligious with this picture? I myself say no, but I realize than some people get offended at just about anything!

Nope. Personally, I think it's just artistic, and I also think it's primarily meant to evoke thoughts of a great artist as opposed to a specific religious occasion (although it would naturally do that as well). I'm sure I've seen references to famous art like this before... sort of like the recent Vanity Fair cover is more reminiscent of that one movie poster, and not the content of the movie itself (and if you don't know what's up with that you've been living under a rock. Seriously).

Where do people find these one-sided rooms that lend themselves so well to pictures?

What do you think we are, Muslims?
The DaVinci painting is highly inaccurate. The tables was most likely low to the ground and Jesus and the Disciples most likely sat on pillows as they at two or three ROUND tables.

Here's more. When you look at the painting it's over a door with an arch. The French cut the arch so that they could get horses in and out. They turned the dining room into a stable.
It's believed that DiVinci was painting Christ in the crucified position, hands out, feet crossed etc. When the French cut the door, they eliminated Christ's feet.

I am not offended but I think it is tacky. I also felt the San Francisco gay poster, from a few months ago, that struck the same poses with S&M afficionados was purely tacky.

Is there any reason that table can’t handle seating on both sides?
If they really wanted their sacreligious stunt to be accurate, they’d be drinking jars of urine.

MarkL,
That link could have been worse. They could have headlined it “Number Six, Nude!” and posted pictures of Patrick McGoohan...

Given the fact that if the pictured "Number Six" were to come to me and say, "I'll be yours, all you need to do is commit high treason against your species, and all humankind would be exterminated," I'd have to say, "that works for me."
Good thing BSG is only a TV show, huh?

But it seems that the creators of BSG were. According to Battlestar Galactica: The Official Companion, written by David Bassom, the character was named "Number Six" after his character, as an indirect honor.
