I absolutely cannot see him doing pop, pop/rock, urban/r&b, Broadway, or even Latin music. I just don't know where he fits.

Maybe that Michael Buble/Adult Contemporary market would fit him. I don't know. I wouldn't buy his music, no matter what genre it was :)

Opps! Jason did a boo boo! Wrong song for him.

Syesha hit the home run with Proud Mary. Super!

I just hope Jason comes back in the second song tonight! (I’m still and probably always be a Jason Castro fan!)

Lousy hippies!

Beatniks! LOL

Flanders' Beatnik Mom: "You gotta help us, Doc. We've tried nothing and we're all out of ideas."

Yeah for the amount of time he had it was pretty good with the Who's song. But who picks Duran, Duran on Rock-n-Roll Hall of fame nite? What was he thinking? LOL

I was thinking about his voice and all the inductees on list and he could have done Neil Young's "Cinnamon Girl", Bod Dylan's rocking(almost metallic) version with The Band of "Baby Let Me Follow You Down", Led Zeppelin's "Communication Breakdown", Eric Clapton's "Crossroads", The Doors "Roadhouse Blues" (curious if he could have gotten away with the "I woke up this morning and got myself a beer" part on AI it would have been interesting), Bod Seger's "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man", Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' "Jammin' Me", Aerosmith's "Sweet Emotion", The Rolling Stones "Jumping Jack Flash",etc it just seems he really missed a good opportunity here by not going deeper into song selection and really making it his own.

ROTFL!! You are so right! I loved his beatnik parents.

Flanders' Beatnik Dad: "Discipline? That would be like telling Gene Krupa to not go bap-bappa-bap-bap-bappa-oop-bippa-bap!"

And my favorite:

"Woopsie-doodle" ~ young Ned Flanders when he accidentally spilled ink on his dad's poetry--LOL! :)

Oh man. Jason forgot the lines. He picked a classic, and man, how can you forget the lines on this one?

I feel real bad for him. It would have went off, if only.

I guess he *might* be next out. Man. I feel too bad on this one. Still love him, though.

I can imagine that after the criticism of his first song, Castro went back and smoked a doobie that would choke Cheech and Chong.

Yeah if he had come back and done "Basketball Jones" that might have saved him. But after tonight it is quite obvious that Jason does not have more moves than EXLAX.(just a song snippet from Basketball Jones)

For the love of all which is sacred and holy in Rock music Loved That!!! LOL

"Live at the Leeds" has always been my favorite Who album. I love their version of "Young Man Blues" and the way Pete Townshend really roams around guitar wise on that 15min version of "My Generation" is super.

Yep John Mayhall and the Bluesbreakers are great. I caught him 4 times in concert and it was always a great show.

I think he missed the part about not "shooting the deputy" (I hate that song too. I cringe everytime I go see Eric Clapton and he preforms it *sigh) I think Jason squawked errr sang something like "I didn't see the deputy", "I couldn't find the deputy", or "The Deputy gave me a Bail Bondsman card that read "Raise Hell, Need Bail"" or something like that. I am with Simon I was like what audition are you from.

Also who ever was mixing the sound tonight needs to get voted off the show.

I think Syesha’s wardrobe choices, ahem, bought her another week. Not that she didn’t do better than Jason, my own personal favorite. Tonight just wasn’t his night. :O(

Geez, I’m really old, coming up on 34 yrs. since my graduation...

I said to my husband while watching HK that I must not have been invited to my Sweet 16! Maybe my husband took me to dinner or something back then, I don’t remember either (we started dating at 14 and 16!) The girl on the show looked more like 26 with all the makeup, spoiled brats.

Round One rankings
1* Syesha Mercado - “Proud Mary”
2* David Cook - “Hungry Like the Wolf”
3* David Archuleta- “Stand by Me”
4* Jason Castro - “I Shot the Sheriff”

Round Two rankings
1* Syesha Mercado - “Change is Gonna Come”
2* David Archuleta - “Love Me Tender”
3* David Cook - “Baba O’Reily”
4* Jason Castro - “Mr. Tambourine Man”

I liked everybody’s second performance better than their first... except for when Jason botched his lyrics on his second song. Jason was one of my early favorites amongst the men, but he has really struggled the further the competition has gone and it looks like he’s been ready to go home for a few weeks.

Archuleta’s second song was the first time in a long time I enjoyed his singing. Syesha gets all my lovin’ (she’s not still engaged, is she?). I liked Cook’s take on The Who song. I miss Brooke.

Saw Luke and Carly in the audience. I miss Brooke.

Overall ranking (change from last week)
1- Syesha (n/c)
2- David C. (+1)
3- David A. (+1)
4- Jason (+1)

Did I mention I miss Brooke? LOL.

I agree with Simon that David A. crushed the others this week(partly because the others weren’t as strong as they’ve been in the past, and David A. was better than he’s been in several weeks.)

1. David A.(Thought he did a nice job with both songs)
2. David C.(Not too good on the first song—blame it partly on the band because it needed more of that pulsing beat that the Duran Duran version has. Better with the Who song but David C. should have made wiser choices with his selections.)
3. Syesha(Tried to be Tina Turner lite and it sorta worked and sorta didn’t work. It was a’ight. Didn’t care for the second song because it came up way short of Sam Cooke’s version.)
4. Jason C.(First performance was just strange but it was interesting to see Jason try to do something different—can’t say it was good, just interesting. I actually enjoyed his second song. Too bad he blew the lyric.)

Should go: Jason
Will go: Jason

Jason is the obvious one to go. I am going to predict it will come down to the two Davids.

I love Ann Rule. Her book on Ted Bundy just makes my soul shiver.

If you love true crime, I hope you have read The Black Dahlia Avenger. The guy is AMAZING. He cracks the case very professionally, and the killer turns out to be his FATHER. Some very weird turns of events and entirely compelling. I believe every word, and the later editions have even more evidence proving it.
