What wonderful news, Amy....In my mind I felt maybe on Monday things would start looking up. Eating is so great, even if its a small amount. God Bless you, Marissa, and Mr. Kitty M. That kitty doesn’t know how many people are hoping and praying for him....!
To: JustAmy
Woo Hoo, I like that, Amy:):)
Come on, Mr. Kitty Mittens, fight the good fight!!
Yes, verry chilly in the mornings here... Brrrrr....that peculiar California dampness.
Today is Cesar Chavez Day, but not sure who and what is observing it.
To: OESY
Hilarious, OESY. Thank you for that link.
Have a Terrific Tater Day!

Thanks, Jaycee.
Mr Mittens has been on the antibiotics for 5 days.
Need to give them for 10 - 14 days.
If my arms make it through day 10, I will consider that job finished. ;^ )
He may not know how many are hoping and praying for him,
but I do!!
Thank You and Everyone else who have him on their Prayer Lists.

LOL
At one time I had a bumper sticker that said ... “Eat grapes, the forbidden fruit.”
Now most of the grapes are harvested mechanically.

Good morning, Ms Kitty Mittens. ;^ )
Thank you for your prayers.
I think if he gets hungry, he will start eating more.

Now most of the grapes are harvested mechanically. Gotta smile at that one; some victory, huh? I think it's either early or late for local grapes now? The last ones I looked at in the market were from Chile. I try to buy only U.S.A. produce but sometimes make exceptions.

Grapes in the valley usually ripen in August.
I put bunches of grapes in the freezer .... Marissa loves Grape Popsicles this time of year. In August and September, I put the bunches in zip lock bags.
My son and his cousins loved frozen grapes during the hot days of July and August.

Ina Garten’s Lemon Cake
INGREDIENTS:
½ pound unsalted butter
2 ½ cups granulated sugar
4 extra-large eggs (at room temperature)
1/3 cup grated lemon zest (6 to 8 large lemons)
3 cups all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon kosher salt
¾ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
¾ cup buttermilk at room temperature
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 cups confectioners’ sugar
3 ½ tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
Preheat the oven to 350ºF. Grease two 8 ½ x 4 ½ x 2 ½ -inch loaf pans. Cream the butter and 2 cups granulated sugar in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment for about 5 minutes or until light and fluffy. With the mixer on medium speed, add the eggs, one at a time, and the lemon zest.
Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a bowl. In another bowl, combine ¼ cup lemon juice, the buttermilk and vanilla. Add the flour and buttermilk mixtures alternately to the batter, beginning and ending with the flour. Divide the batter evenly between the pans, smooth the tops, and bake for 45 minutes to an hour, until a cake tester comes out clean.
Combine ½ cup granulated sugar with ½ cup lemon juice in a small saucepan and cook over low heat until the sugar dissolves and makes a syrup. When the cakes are done, let them cool for 10 minutes, then invert them onto a rack set over a tray, and spoon the lemon syrup over the cakes. Allow the cakes to cool completely.
For the glaze, combine the confectioners’ sugar and lemon juice in a bowl, mixing with a wire whisk until smooth. Pour over the top of the cakes and allow the glaze to drizzle down the sides.
Happy Oranges and Lemon Day!

Hubby still enjoys Shredded Wheat.
I haven't eaten it for many years;
Marissa likes the Bite Size Shredded Wheat.
Thanks for bringing back childhood memories.
Have a wonderful Day!

"Maybe NNB can write an Ode to Lettuce...? *Grin*" Lettuce?
Am I to travel the road once used by such luminaries as Theodor Geisel and Ogden Nash?
Hmm. Not bad company.

"Terrific graphic and poetry. It set the mood, along with the windows through which we view past, present and future." Thanks. It's one of my favorites.

Thank you so much for the cute graphic and greeting, Amy. I meant to spend more time with you all today but a friend of mine since 8th grade came to visit me today unannounced with a card and gift.
I really don't care because we are like sisters. She lives about 75 miles from me in Big Stone Gap and we have always been as close as friends can be. Of course, when a friend comes, I try to do a little something extra but didn't today! Its okay....we all need spur of the moment happiness.
Once again, I am so happy that Kitty Mitten is feeling some better, Amy, and hope he improves every day...bless his little heart. He doesn't understand!
To: The Mayor
Rus, thank you for bringing us Scripture lessons every day.
I didn't get you thanked either Saturday or Sunday .... But,
I saw your posts and I appreciate what you do for Amy's Place.
