M.B., I just went through about 20 and understood this one well:
For love and for hate
I swat a fly and offer it
to an ant.
LOL~~

That's a good one! I came across one similar to that this morning. Something about "I swat a fly and my children are watching".........or something like that. LOL
Reading haiku is fun, I think. Most of them aren't as confusing as I find some poetry to be. It's hard to get really "deep" and confusing in ten syllables. ;-)
How is your back doing?

Back is a bit better...it just acts up sometime! Occasionally I will have a spell for days and sometimes it will be only a day. These bodies are hard to understand. Where is NNB’s haiku? I read one.

Its a big web and a small world.. It sure is.
I think the problem with the syllables is, the haiku that is translated from the orginal Japanese doesn't translate into the same number of syllables in English. But, I'm not sure. I actually don't know what I am talking about, so I probably should just say...."I have no idea". LOL

I caught a butterfly once,
And pinned him to a board,
Through the ring in his nose.
Later, I discovered,
He had gotten free,
Trumpeting his glee,
Ultrasonicly.

Butterfly
Whats in those flowers that you sip,
That makes you seem so tipsy?
We cant tell if youre coming from,
Albany or Poughkeepsie,
Or even if youre going to,
One place or the other.
The way you travel seems to be,
Youre looking for your mother!
Just as a toddler wanders round,
With no fixed course in sight,
The butterfly flits both here and yon,
In most erratic flight.
It seems so inefficient,
Why cant you just hold still?
And then you stop, and fold your wings,
Upon a daffodil.
You daintily step forward,
I havent touched a drop!
And just as sober as a Judge,
You spread your wings and FLOP!
And Flip, and Flap, and bounce.
A goonie in reverse.
How can you be so comical?
I know you dont rehearse.
And yet you get where you must go,
God knows how you can do it.
Perhaps the use of folded hands,
And faith just leads you to it.

An Impossible Challenge?
Do all things without complaining and disputing. Philippians 2:14
A pastor in Kansas City gave what seemed to be an impossible challenge to his congregationto go 21 days without complaining (the amount of time some say it takes to develop a new habit). Special bracelets were distributed to participants as a reminder to live complaint-free lives. A movement was started, and millions of bracelets have been distributed all over the world.
The biblical principle Do all things without complaining and disputing (Phil. 2:14) is an important one. The ancient Israelites discovered this when, because of their constant complaining in the wilderness, they were judged by God and not allowed to enter the Promised Land (Num. 14).
How can we learn to develop a noncomplaining, positive attitude that will please the Lord?
By disciplining our thoughts (Rom. 12:2). We need to meditate on Scripture and remember our blessings.
By confessing our critical spirit and committing ourselves to obedience each time we fail (1 John 1:9).
By enlisting Gods help and the help of others. The Spirit will empower us as we depend on Him (John 14:26). Because God helps us, doing all things without complaining is not an impossible challenge.
Lord, help me stop complaining
When things dont go my way;
Instead, give me a thankful heart
For all You do each day. Sper
