Great article. The Spartans were wild savages, the Persians in general were not, at least not to that degree. They wouldn’t even be Muslim had the Arabs not conquered them.
Although, it’s kind of ironic that Zoroastranism, invented by the Iranians, should give rise to Islam, which was forced on Iran and holds it captive today.

Pre-Islamic Persia was, in many ways, a much more civilized place than Sparta.
Unfortunately, there will be RETARDS on this thread who will start mouthing off about A-rabs (Iranians are PERSIANS) and how this is "Islamonazi" propaganda.
BTW: Grease, er, Greece is appropriately named.

Uh, no. Judaism pre-dates Zoroastranism by quite a bit. Christianity has strong connections to Judaism, though it did come after Zoroastranism. I think Islam was spawned by a bad acid trip. ;-)

“accommodate the Hebrews return to their Palestinean homeland.”
The land that we now refer to as Israel, was not called Palestine until the Roman occupation, and that was LONG after the Jews returned from the Babylonian captivity. It seems that there’s a serious deficit of facts in this article.

In today's "modern media" the Spartans will more likely be remembered as
the inventors of the "Lazuh" than for anything within an accurate historical context.
An interesting debate. I think the question with regard to the overall impact of Sparta's contribution via resistance to the Persian conquest of Greece is "did they truly protect and preserve the birth of democracy" or is that just a romantic allusion attributed to them because of the courage of the 300 at Thermopylae?
