A female recruit is appealing after she was kicked out of army training in Germany for having breast implants.
Alessija Dorfmann, 23, who has a D cup after the operation, said: "I am devastated - it has always been my dream to be a soldier and have a great figure - and now my fake boobs have cost me my job.
"I could not stop crying when they told me. I wanted to work as an army medic and help save lives."
The brunette who earned the money for the boob job working as a carer in an OAP's home before joining the army has now appealed the ruling - and military chiefs have pledged to review the situation.
Army spokesman Harald Kammerbauer said: "The rule that was brought in because of the increased risk of an injury is under review.
"It was introduced more than a decade ago and it may be that it is no longer relevant in the modern army. In future we may be prepared to make exceptions."
So did I! :)
Doesn't sound like soldier material to me.
“...and military chiefs have pledged to review the situation. “
Look into further I bet.....
OK, so if you are naturally large you have to get a reduction?
I think she will be allowed to stay in. Worst case, they could have them removed.
i’m going to go with not guilty...for now.
To be fair, I don't fault her for having an extremely emotional reaction to being denied her desire to serve her country and save lives. If a man cried over such a thing, I wouldn't think less of him.
Now on the other hand...
"I am devastated - it has always been my dream to be a soldier and have a great figure"
...I did blink a little at this quote.
It’s not the size, it’s the augmentation that’s the issue. For a while, the USAF was kicking out anyone who had a radial keratotamy (sp).
i think it’s due to the fact that some were leaking years ago. but also because it’s a foreign substance in your body and there are certain risks that do not accompany natural assets.
Poor thing. No one should lose a job over implants, except for maybe a nun.
"I wanted to work as an army medic and help save lives."
Send her to the Joy Division.
LOL. Miss America = GI Jane = trouble in the barracks.
Hear, hear! I need to see for myself.
Ermkay...
Let’s post “before” and “after” pics with the question: Which nurse would you like to tend to you after you are wounded?
I would think the army would see this as an asset—she carries half of her bullet-proof vest with her at all times.
