The Hobbit Hole XXXV - ...is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

Posted on 01/03/2008 6:35:58 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Eep!

Go and buy a new car, girl!

$300 a month is ridiculous.

I’ve spent an average of three hundred bucks a month on the van - not gas, either.

Well, there's your new car payment right there! You've been spending it all along without the benefit of shiny new wheels! ;o)

Well...in Van-sama’s defense, part of that was my fault, and also, if I averaged over the entire year, I don’t think it was nearly that bad.

But I suppose it means I can handle a payment.

Now I get to go through mourning for a bit, too. I’ve been through a lot with this van. It drove us to the airport for Entmoot. It took us to a lot of gigs and music nights. It drove me and all my belongings and the two kitties all the way from Vermont to Colorado and on to Washington. Lotta miles...lotta memories. Granted, those memories won’t just go away if I no longer have the van, but...well...you know.

Brain download kilt the thread...

Kitty looks rather like my Halvah.

She could use more brains.

I wondered if that would be something Havlah might do.

Fantastic news, Rose!

I went to the doc today and he basically said what I thought he’d say...my tests are normal, I likely just have essential hypertension (high bp with no known cause).

He said I should count my blessings...my kidneys and cardiovascular system are not damaged at all...I caught it before it caused any damage. The only hit I seemed to have taken is in my right eye...blurry vision for the past two weeks. Going to ophthamologist next Tuesday.

He also started me on the Lisinopril again. So I’m back to taking three bp meds again... BP had begun to rise again, in the last couple of days.

I don’t feel ready to accept the essential HTN verdict...because that means there’s no known cause to cure thus no cure, only treatment.

I don’t know where to go from here though.

I bought some fried chicken and some Hershey’s Easter chocolate...I’ll start with that and see what I can figure out.

Well, dang. That still seems odd to me, given how it came on so hard and so fast...unless you'd been ignoring symptoms for a long while. I dunno.

Somehow I'm thinkin' he didn't necessarily say fried chicken was a good cure, though. ;-)

Evening 2J - I’ve never heard of that. Glad you caught it in time, staying on the meds is about the only reasonable course of action. OB & LSA

Waves. I has some.

Although it’s too cold to open the sliding glass doors. I have an ocean front room. 6th floor which isn’t bad.

I always forget that one of the things I like about Virginia Beach is being able to watch the ships come into the Chesapeake Bay on their way to Hampton Roads.

Cold? It was almost 50 here today. Lovely. Hoping it’s that warm Friday so we can ditch work and go shooting.
