The Hobbit Hole XXXV - ...is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

Posted on 01/03/2008 6:35:58 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Party At The Leper Colony
by Al Yankovic

Finger food and an ice cold keg
It won’t cost you an arm and a leg
Dance all night to a rotten band
Come on, people, let’s give ‘em a hand

Saturday night, it’s the place to be
Everybody cut footloose with me
At the party at the leper colony
Oh, there’s a party at the leper colony
Hey

Met a little lady so pretty and young
She was quite a little talker ‘till the cat got her tongue
She oozed up beside me, I turned on my charm
Well, pretty soon she was completely disarmed

I said, “Girl, now don’t fall to pieces on me”
But she cried her eyes out - literally
At the party at the leper colony
Oh, there’s a party at the leper colony
Hey, hey

Hey now, buddy, don’t you give me no lip
Sorry I was using your head for dip
There’s a guy in the hot tub, I don’t know who
Wait a minute, it looks like Stu

Well, hold the phone now, what do I see?
Another pretty mama got her eye on me
At the party at the leper colony
Oh, there’s a party at the leper colony

There’s a party at the leper colony
(Party at the leper colony)
There’s a party at the leper colony
(Party at the leper colony)

Oh, there’s a party at the leper colony
Yeah, party at the leper colony
Well, there’s a party at the leper colony
(Party at the leper colony)
Hey

Kid: Mrs. Jones can Bobby come out and play?

Mrs. Jones: Now, Tommy, you know Bobby has leprosy.

Kid: Then can we come in and watch him rot?

Someday we’ll all be able to look back on this thread and say “2J started it.”

I’m pretty sure we’ve done the leprosy thing before...and I’m thinking I started it that time too.

:-)

Why did they stop the leprosy hockey game?

Because there was a face off.

Bats do eat a lot of bugs, that’s for sure! I agree with your vet on over-vaccinating, but, yearly vaccination for rabies required here. I also get a multivaccination that protects against 6 different diseases, and a bordetella (kennel cough) booster for Gypsy since my neighbors’ standard of pet care does not equal ours and I don’t want Gypsy to catch anything. If’n you know what I mean...

Yeah - I used to do kennel cough when I was showing or frequenting dog parks just because we had so much contact with other dogs.

Right now the main concern is keeping the cats up to date on their shots including feline Leukemia, because I’ve got all these feral cats hanging around that they mingle with.

I've seen those items, but I need to go light, especially in my mother's car. Between this CRKT rescue tool and some seatbelt cutters, I think I can handle 95% of what comes my way. I know I'm also better prepared than 95% of the general population.

Except for 2J, who carries a seatbelt cutter, and lifejackets in her car.

Yup, FUBAR is (potentially) a great tool - luckily haven’t had to use mine; got one in the Highlander. I understand there is a smaller version avaiable now.

There are THREE (3) versions of the FUBAR tool, a small hammer size, a medium large framing hammer size and a full sized 30 inch long crowbar/sledge hammer ax size. I have all three and have been abusing the heck out of em remodeling a small home I own.

The new and largest 30 inch long version is a toll I keep in the truck for all possible needs as 300winmag wrote about......

Understand........do not over look using a simple vehicle jack as a door jam spreader to open a door easily and fast.....as well a simple good cordless drill and a half inch bit will drill out both the door lock and the dead bolt lock so it can be opened with out damage too the doors so all that has to be replaced is the locks vs the jams and door itself.

But as ya saw fit if risk of life is present or suspect drop that door like a drunk brother in law.......

If ya leave the Becker Tool at Home or break it.....

Glad ya had that thing !

Heh. Gotta love that. And in Oklahoma, too. :-)

For the bridges around here I suppose I don't need lifejackets so much as a parachute.

Wheee! Pictures coming tomorrow (when I have natural daylight)... but I finished my kool-aid scarf. It turned out great!

I can't wait to dye more yarn, but Wallyworld only had one skein of plain wool left. Urgh. Must... have... more.... yarn!
