With all the bad news coming out of California I thought a frivolous topic might be in order.
What is your favorite or least favorite of the new television season?
I have two shows that I look forward to each week:
The Big Bang Theory (Mondays on CBS) and Samantha Who with Christina Applegate (Mondays on ABC)
I have an extremely dry sense of humor and both of these shows just crack me up (especially Big Bang Theory).
I haven’t watched a network prime-time show in years. I did, however, just buy the first season of “Rawhide” on DVD.
Head ‘em up, move ‘em out.
Some of us can do both at the same time:').
My favorite are the house remodeling shows. I watch them until I fall asleep at night.
Least favorite: Viva Laughlin. As soon as the main charecter began singing Viva Las Vegas I knew I was looking at a season turkey. WAY too much like Cop Rock. And since I live a mere 25 miles from Laughlin I KNOW there are not really hot chicks all over the casinos here....unless you are into 65+ year olds who are hooked on penny slots and are dragging oxygen tanks around with them.
My TeeVee is dead, Jim. I killed it.
Beat you by nearly 2 minutes!
‘First we kill all the (trial) lawyers.’
I can’t watch innertube. The right side of the screen is cut off. I can’t click on the full screen opion because that’s cut off, too. Makes me mad.
“I wonder how many FReeper The Office fans are out there?”
Me me me me me me me me me me!
The BEST show on the air.
I've never seen it. If the show's storylines are anywhere near as outrageous and dishonorable as the current actions of the real-life NCIS towards our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, then I want no part of it.
It reminded me of another of my fave all-time shows, She Spies, which had a limited run on NBC in 2000 before going to syndication. That isn't surprising since She Spies was obviously inspired by the success of the film version of Charlie's Angels, which starred Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, and Lucy Liu. The director of Charlie's Angels -- which, by the way, I flipped off after ten minutes -- was directed by Joseph McGinty Nichol, bka "McG." McG is the creator and director of Chuck.
She Spies' first two seasons are as great as any show I have ever seen. While it was inspired by McG's Angels flick, it was funnier and wittier. It was more like a hybrid of the original Charlie's Angels TV show and, believe it or not, The Monkees, sharing that classic comedy's penchant for "breaking the fourth wall" (IOW, the actors break character to address the viewer).
Unfortunately, the lighthearted action in She Spies ended in the third season, and the producers tried to make it more like Mission Impossible meets Baywatch. Ugh. I saw the third season's premiere and never watched it again. Apparently, I wasn't alone, as it was the final season.
Speical Victims tonight features an Arab that was murdered. As the script is playing out. He was tortured by members of the US military, who made him stand naked in front of women, sleep depreviation, the whole nine yards.
A woman who was writing a book about his life was also murdered.
This stuff is getting unwatchable.
Hollywood is kicking it up a notch.
I gag on most shows..so many channels so much garbage...I end up watching endless repeat House Hunters or Fox or classic films
24,The Closer, Without a Trace, House, Grey’s Anatomy, Life,Private Practice
Even though it’s not a new show, Office is still very funny to me.
I don’t really have one. I’m just surprised that “Viva Laughlin” got whacked before “Cavemen”.
I like Chuck too.
I like House and Life, too. Both of the lead actors are British, I think.
I really wish they would ditch the reality shows (Survivor, Idol, that kidtown thing, and any other zero budget piece of crap).
They need to actually hire some new writers. I love SciFi, but the SciFi Channel’s made for TV movies in the weekend prime time are not even as good as the shoddy old Ed Wood stuff. Th networks need to pay more than 14 cents per script if they actually want to attract viewers.
A genuine good plot and story line will trump special effects every time.
I love Scrubs!
What has two thumbs and doesn’t give a crap?
