With all the bad news coming out of California I thought a frivolous topic might be in order.
What is your favorite or least favorite of the new television season?
I have two shows that I look forward to each week:
The Big Bang Theory (Mondays on CBS) and Samantha Who with Christina Applegate (Mondays on ABC)
I have an extremely dry sense of humor and both of these shows just crack me up (especially Big Bang Theory).
I had hopes for Bionic Woman but it’s been pretty bad so far. I’m still gonna give it a chance.
I agree about the bias on the L&O shows. I don’t watch them any more.
Do they have to stop running the original Law & order re-runs that have Fred on them? I haven’t heard.
I can't watch Damian Lewis without seeing Major Winters from Band of Brothers.
I loved SG1. But it went downhill after Richard Dean Anderson retired. It was a great show. I have a lot of DVD’s of that show.
I think cable is allowed to show episodes with Fred in them. Might be a different story if he gets the nomination.
“Burn Notice” was the best show of the year in my book, but it’s on hiatus now until next year sometime.
“Bionic Woman” had potential, but is looking like a flop after the first episode.
“Life” has an intriguing plot, but it’s kind of slow and dopey.

Love Adam Baldwin. He was great on Firefly. He needs to change his last name... I always have to stop and think.
‘Love Shark’
Same here. And Friday’s entire lineup beginning with Ghost Whisperer.
Reaper, seriously?
I laughed my @$$ off at the premier, but thought the next two were just SOS. (Except for the RC-truck gag...that was good!)
Bionic Woman...Lindsay Wagner, she’s not!
Damages on FX
Of course its season just ended.
Can’t wait for Season 2.
I like Shark but Ghost Whisperer lost me ... too saccharine and don’t care for the girl.
By the way, there are blessedly few people who have come on this thread to announce that:
1) they do not own a TV
2) they threw their TV away when ... (fill in the blank)
3) people who watch television are ... (fill in that blank also)
Nah, I think the other Baldwin bozos need to change their's.
Re Law & Order - flipped on show last night, listened to two minutes and then added it to my list of Will Not Watch any more. Doctor was on trial for interrogation techniques at GITMO. Very, very left wing. Understand they are not only program doing this. Back to CSI, HGTV, Dirty Jobs, Shark and some FOX. Listened to a bit of NightLine re the California fires. Some ditzy female broadcaster kept trying to compare it to New Orleans. People who can afford multimillion dollar homes versus Section 8 housing mentality. Turned it off!
When I found out that the U.S. govt agent with the bionic parts was going to be British, I had a feeling it would suck. When I found out that there was going to be an "evil bionic woman" who came first, I figured it would suck. When I found out that the new "re-imaged" Bionic Woman would star someone from the new "re-imaged" Battlestar Galactica, ... well, you can follow the thought processes here.
And to add to that, I am enjoying Torchwood on BBC America, though not as much as I would have hoped.
It holds the distinction of being the only show to have an actor that I remember from somewhere but couldn't place immediately and then turn out it was from "Masterpiece Theater"! (which I rarely watch)
‘I like Shark but Ghost Whisperer lost me ... too saccharine and dont care for the girl.’
Ghost Whisperer did a great show a couple of weeks ago about a guy back from Iraq, ‘haunted’ by his squad that was wiped out by an IED.
We like the show, but to each there own.
'Journeyman' is pretty good also
Yeah...now that the 'touchy-feely' Dr. Weir is gone.
Gad, she was insufferable.
The only new shows that I enjoy this season are from the BBC.
“Torchwood” flat out rocks! Finally, Sci-Fi for adults!
“Hotel Babylon” is what “Viva, Laughlin!” aspired to be. Without the song and dance. The actress playing Rebecca, the hotel’s managing director, caught my eye years back in “Red Cap” and has yet to disappoint.
“Ultimate Force” is a more straight forward version and less family-friendly version of “The Unit”.
Stateside, I’ll stick with “The Closer”, “NCIS”, “Eureka” and “The Unit”.
Well written episodes with dedicated Character Actors who understand what “Ensemble” is all about.
Jack.
