Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
See actually, that’s not true either... as I think about it. At least at that hour there won’t be traffic.
I know I’m going to make my honey drive me to the airport when I go to Oklahoma.... so I guess I sound like a real hypocrite if I don’t take you. :~)
Er, better. Leagues better.
Heh.
When I rented that apartment (while I was trying to sell theoldhouse) I’d gripe about the sorry job the “professional” construction guys did.
What’s the best way to sharpen an HH knife?
Let’s start at the beginning and ~assume~ I have none of the necessary equipment for knife sharpenin’.
Hey, that looks great. Kudos and give OT a home builder’s baseball cap.
Speaking of baseball - go Cubs.
The charger worked again, whew, got the neighbors fence put back together. I think a replacement is order since batteries and chargers are now only available on ebay. Thinking of getting one like G’nad and Ecurbh have. Going to be watching the sales carefully.
Had to take two of her boards out to get to the other side. Her dad had used a nail gun with thirty percent hit rate on the stringers so a couple of strategic tugs and a couple of whacks with the hammer and I had two boards out. Fence lattice has been reinforced on her side with ‘Phoenix’ resistant 1 X 4s across the lattice and uprights. He’ll really need to be persistent to get through that one.
I got thuh ground cleared for thenewbuildin’
That’s about all the breath I had in me today.
Stoopid Cubs!
~sip~
At least St. Louis and Milwaukee lost.
Newbuilding you say?
Building a shop/storage shed/g’nad room?
Well, can’t win ‘em all - wonder if the Royals won? novel concept that.
Hmmmm.....accessing mlb.com.....
KC plays tonight.
11 to 2.
Think I’ll go out to The Cage and harvest some tomatoes.
It came in a kit from Lowes.
No good will come of this.
Shifting gears from home improvement to Christmas CD/Show. Back later.
Clare and I drove out to Central West MA to take her to a Live Action Role Playing event one weekend. I was amazed that 15 minutes west of Leominster, you were in ‘the country’! It was all rural, and very pretty! Same thing about 15 mins. west of Worcester, as well, except there are more towns that you actually go through out Rt. 9 toward Amherst. Between Rt. 2 and Rt. 9, there is a whole lot of nuthin!
Where in NH are you? We’ve camped close to Little Squam Lake, and up in the mountains west of Loon Mountain. Both places are just gorgeous!
Presently residing in Manchester. Helping a neighbor build out in Grafton (northwest Route 4). Eventually may build out there myself.
LARPing! Thanks for reminding me that there are active groups out here. :)
Do you have the "original" CRKT all-metal folding knife, or one of the Shoot Moot models? The only difference is the "original" is ground on one side only, and should be sharpened on that side only.
I might have a cheap, simple sharpener you can have. The trick is to keep a good knife sharp with frequent honing, rather than perform major surgery when it gets dull.
Does it have an attic?
We’re back... got back an hour or so ago... only to find that somehow the basement door had gotten closed. Where the cat box is.
Good Luck to you my Friend; let us know how it well it goes together.
Eeek! Well. Welcome back anyway!
