This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
We are replacing the floor in our trailer. Hubby got 90% of it done yesterday, just needs to put the new bolts in and the angle iron in the one corner. I will feel SOOO much better with a newly done floor.
You can barely see the new Blue Point Junipers I just planted Monday night on either side of the sidewalk by the front porch and the Flaming Creeper Azaela's in the planter boxes.
In front of the chainlink fence here we are going to put Knock Out roses, alternate red and pink maybe. I think we got to much red going on with the climbing roses anyway.
Bought some yellow Day Lillies to plant around the mail box base.
Very pretty and neat. I noticed everthing matched nicely before you even said you were going to throw in some pink. That trailer floor looks great; very safe.
I like the picture in the creek before you go up the hill. It’s neat to see them and know where that is because you’ve been there.
Hal is building 2 new stalls, between working on hay. He has 2 1/2 walls and the roof up, but had to go back to the hayfield today.
I want to put Daisy up during the day to keep her from fading out to red/white instead of black. Hopefully these will be big enough and open in the front so she can see out and not get too hot. We can add fans when it gets hotter. The best part will be having a place for everyone to eat w/o running somebody off.
When you trapped ‘coons and took them off, Frog said they came back. How far did you take them? That’s what’s killing our chickens and Hal trapped one. He said he took it 10 miles away, but I’m afraid it will come back.
I mentioned what you said to my husband and he thinks that's a great idea.
The other thing though is I ASSUMED the hog wire would have an electric wire on top - not so, I'm told. hmmmm.....
Hey, those trail pics turned out pretty good for it to have been so overcast. The trailer floor looks good too. Looks like Gary did a great job of figuring out the best way to get the old boards out and the new ones back in without having to cut out all that old angle-iron. All your landscaping looks great too. Very neat. I like it!
I got to thinking about it and it wasn’t Hair who said that. I think it was somebody over on the Horse.com forum telling Hair about their situation whenever she posted the thread about the possums under her house.
I think I'd lobby pretty hard for that. Otherwise they'll eventually ride it down and you'll have a mess. Been there, done that.

You can say that again... ;~)
Your yard looks great... love the climbing roses... would like to see them at the end of summer when they’ve really grown!
I'm impressed at all her horses and how good they do, for how green they are. You guys put great miles on horses and great experience! Thanks for the pics!
We didn't end up going riding at all this weekend.
I'm trying to make sense of the weather... record highs a few days ago... cold (55) windy and rainy today. :~\
I guess I'm surprised the boards don't run lengthwise?! Seems the real strength is in the axles, though I can't tell, and am sure those other supports are strong too. Is that how they ran originally?
Your place is looking so nice!!! Very good job.
Becky
The trail ride looks real nice too:)
Frog, Goose looks/sounds like a seasoned trail horse.

The local BP gas station, which we frequent, put this notice up. Right across from Alison's school. :)
Congratulations. I still say that little gal’s going to have so many winnings by the time she’s a teenager she’s going to be hard to keep on the ground! I marvel at her. She’s one lucky kid.
That is so outstanding. She is doing so great. And it’s really cool that the gas station put up the sign. I think you have every reason to be proud of her :)
Congratulations Alison:)!!

Hey, don't let his achievements fool you, he's still a green 2yr old. What BladeRider didn't tell you is that he managed to dump me shortly after that picture coming up out of the creek. There were some loose horses at the top of the hill that weren't supposed to be there and when we rounded a bend in the trail one of them went shooting across in front of him like a bat outta hell. It scared him so bad that he did a 180 and I didn't, so I landed on my back and right shoulder and it's kinda messed my shoulder up. It's not broken or anything, just bruised, according to the bone doctor who took my cast off yesterday, but it sure makes lifting that arm a painful ordeal.
That's one bad thing about riding a young, thin-bodied horse. They can get out from under you before you know what's happening. But I don't blame him for it. I think that would've spooked most any horse. And he did come back to me after he ran about 50 feet. You could tell the poor little booger was thinking "What the heck was THAT?!". And I know I jerked his jaw pretty bad before I fell because I got a really bad rope burn across my left fingers from those nylon reins. He did seem a little high-headed and sensitive in the mouth after that so I'm sure it was sore. Lord knows I was. But he wasn't looking for boogers around every corner after that like I would have expected him to, so he did pretty good, all things considered. I just don't bounce as well as I used to! ;o)
