Pagans upset over 180-ft. Homer
UPI ^ | July 19, 2007

CERNE ABBAS, England, July 19 (UPI) -- A 180-foot-long drawing of Homer Simpson next to an enormous, sacred carving in Dorset, England, has angered pagans, Sky News reported Wednesday.

The group has vowed to do a little "rain magic" to wash away the cartoon character, which was rendered with biodegradable paint on a hillside next to the famous 17th Century fertility symbol, the Cerne Abbas giant.

The picture of Homer Simpson eating a doughnut was etched alongside the chalk outline of the naked, club-wielding giant as a publicity stunt to promote the upcoming release of "The Simpsons Movie."

So, UPI has decided that pagen icons are "sacred"? How much you want to bet the refer to the Church of the Nativity in Bethlahem as "regarded as sacred by many Christians" or some such qualified nonsense.

Since the pagans have started “praying” for rain over there the Lord has blessed us with a nice rain over here in Indiana.

The only reason the Cerne Abbas Giant is still there is because the government goes out from time to time and re-chalks the lines. It would be funny as heck if somebody re-chalked the Giant Homer every six months or so. Then after 100 years, nobody could remove it because it would be sufficiently old.

Notice the “Homer” has his privates covered, and the giant does not.

Hillarious -

first I didn’t know what to look for and was reading the inane juvenile posts.

Lower left folks - animated GIF of Homer tossing the donut over the phallus of the giant and raising his arms in a hearty “Woo hoo!”.
