All Things Considered, January 19, 2005 · Last Friday, Harvard University President Lawrence Summers suggested that innate differences between men and women might be one reason there are fewer women in the fields of science and engineering. More than 50 Harvard professors signed a letter protesting his statement, and alumnae have threatened to withhold donations. Summers has apologized, but commentator and psychological researcher Drew Westen says that apology might be unwarranted. (Audio at link.)

Drew Westen is the Democrats' 2008 linguistic guru, after George Lakoff's failure to beat the Republicans with the concept of "framing". Westen was on with
Dianne Rehm Thursday, explaining (as Rush Limbaugh has been saying for years) that Democrats are ruled by emotions, and so should be addressed emotionally rather than logically.
I wonder if the Democrats recall Westen's defense of Larry Summers.

Science also notes differences between males and females in the area of procreation. This is the left’s inability to admit that equality does not mean identity (or being identical).

While boys and girls have similar scores on the SAT Verbal, the boys average is 40 points higher on
SAT Math. At the extreme right of the bell curve (which is where our MIT science PhD's come from), this translates into a huge disparity.
