AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 2261) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | June 1, 2007 | All of Us

Posted on 06/01/2007 4:29:35 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

As we settle into the nighttime of despair, fret not, for the Sun will rise again!!

Good morning!!

We, here, will never forget those who died on September 11, 2001, as we seek to protect the Republic from all who will do her harm!!

The horror.

This morning the Washington Pravda (called the Post by the evangelists of the left) is running a piece that leaves absolutely no comfort whatsoever in the hearts of those desiring to protect the American Way.

President Bush appears to have caved on the subject of Global Warming.

No kidding.

The President yesterday took the initiative to put the United States out in front in agreeing to goals for reducing so-called greenhouse gas emissions--in particular, carbon dioxide. The President outlined this in his speech for his priorities at the G8 summit next week in Germany.

The problem is fundamental. Carbon dioxide is the end product of the process of combustion--the key to liberating energy from the most efficient of fuels. While it is true there is more than simply a casual relationship between the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and the ability to retain radient energy (the planet would be unlivable if this were not true as the surface temperature would be well below zero), no one has been able to answer a fundamental question--what is the mathematical relationship between the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and temperature change. Is it linear? Doesn't appear to be, otherwise planet temperatures would be far higher now as carbon levels have gone up by tens of percentage points over the last decades. So what is it?

Talk has been made of a so-called "tipping point", the point at which carbon dioxide levels would cause temperature increases. Again--what is that level? No one seems to be able to have an answer.

Then there is the anecdotal information available to everyone. Supposedly the planet is warming, but there have been record snowfalls over the northern United States in recent years--indeed, just a couple of years ago northern Virginia received over 60 inches of snow during the winter!

Simply stated, from iceagenow.com, you cannot say its getting warmer when the refrigerator is getting colder.

As has been pointed out on numerous occassions, the meteorological process that generates the east coast blizzards associated with the nor'easter storms requires the collision between warm and cold air masses. As cold air cannot hold as much water vapor as warm air (and the colder the air, the less water vapor it holds), the moisture is squeezed out of the tropical portion of the storm and falls. The greater this temperature difference, the more efficient the process--in other words, more precipitiation. Of course, if the difference is great enough, the cold side is below freezing at the surface, causing snow.

It is also well established that soil changes temperature far more readily than water (in fact, changing the temperature of water requires the transfer of more energy per unit of mass than just about any other substance). People usually intuitively know this--that's why we throw water on a fire to put it out.

Intuition would also suggest that if snowfall levels are increasing, then the process for creating such must be working better--and that there is more cold air available to create the outcome.

Problem is, all the hot air surrounding the subject of global warming is apparently melting people's common sense.

Unfortunately, the President seems to have joined that crowd.

Say good bye to prosperity.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Good morning folks, nice to “see” everybody. Thanks for the links Molly, as always.

Had bad storms here again yesterday and a tornado or microburst (at minimum) sucked the windows out of a house just about 100 yards from where we are. Luckily nothing happened to us here, but too darned close for comfort especially being in a modular home without a basement.

Hopefully that’s the last of the really bad weather for a while.

Have a great day everybody.

Hi everyone!

Continuing to water here. I offered some plants to a friend, so I'm watering before digging them up.

This is our homeless family week to host, and again, we're having behavior issues: poor respect for property despite strong entry rules speech, and signs, etc. One of the other volunteer leaders has left on vacation - Tues. - and so it's fallen to me to go back to the volunteers and families and get the message across again.

I'm getting tired of the difficulties in the program, and will round out my 4 th year next spring, and move on. It's quite possible another person would be more effective and supportive of the lead volunteer - the one who's left for the week - than I am.

For example, I am not interested in taking over her spot, and it would be good for her to get someone into the effort who would be.

So that has kept me going this week, plus some household maintenance things, but, BUT...

Last night I went to the game to see the Tribe beat the Tigers! It was great fun, the place was bustling and noisy, and I loved every minute of it!

>>What’s the article?

Not an article.

It’s a video of Henninger (yesterday) discussing his immigration article

oh dear. I can't go there, Jim. It's like disliking a family member once held especially dear. Can't do it. Other feelings tho, yes. But my feelings are muted, and I can respect him for specific stands and achievements.

Okay, Raven that must have been from the WSJ cable show? I heard a clip of that on some radio show.

I'm heading out to deliver the plants I dug up...after which I looked like that Mudpie girl from Peanuts...what'shername?

If you start burning out, back off for a while, get a rest, do some rethinking, you will guide yourself into the right direction.

I can’t dislike the President, but I do wonder to whom he’s listening and believing. His stance frustrates me to no end. Keep thinking I might be missing something. More likely, I think he’s not getting good advice.
Maybe if we all write to Laura and share our concerns. For sure, he’ll listen to her!

I can’t go that far, but I feel betrayed in many ways by people I once trusted.

We're OK lysie, thanks. Too close for comfort though.

Speaking of the Det. Tigers, I've been meaning to ask you baseball buffs here, if you are familiar with Eldon Auker

He is the baseball hall-of-famer (I believe he's in the HOF anyway) that was born in Mr. Prairie's hometown.

Ever heard of Auker, anybody?

Those behavior issues may well be what contributed to those people being homeless in the first place. Sorry to hear it’s been rough again for your program and especially for you Molly.

The old saying...if you stay inside the beltway long enough, everyone becomes a flamin’ lib.
