Hey, everyone.... I have a few prayer requests. I just was told my mom has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure. They have put her on medication to try to get the fluid off her heart. They also found her thyroid is not functioning correctly and the numbers are way out of whack.
PLEASE also pray for my daughter and my grandson. My daughter has just returned from the Dr. They gave her a steroid shot today and she will receive another one tomorrow to help the baby's lungs develop as they are not ready yet. She is 28 weeks along. He is currently 2 lbs 9 ounces. They have put her on bedrest... she cannot be up for more than 15 minutes, when she is up. This means that she has to take a leave from her job. She is worried about losing her house and paying her bills. She was also informed that she may not have a job when this is all over!
I have been unemployed since January, and going through a mess, as well. Some of you are aware of all of it. Circumstances have put the girls and I living with my older daughter, so we have been helping already with things around the house. God knew she would need us and placed us here ahead of time.
I am working on a project temporarily for Abstinence Clearing House, which will help some in the financial department. Please pray that my mess comes together so that I can help her.
As you can see...there are many issues here.
You prayers are coveted!! (Now I will have a 21 yr old saying, "I'm BORED" along side the 12 yr old that says it frequently!! What's a mother to do! I think I am going to the house in Viborg to get ALL thoe BOARD/bored games!!)
I know in my heart God's hand is in everything and He cares for us. At the moment, it is hard to not feel quite overwhelmed!!
Future “He” freeper! He’s a handsome little man with lots of black hair from what I’ve been told. :)
Praise the Lord, that is wonderful news about the baby. Will continue in prayer for the mother, that she will heal quickly and be allowed into the OB unit soon... And also, prayers for the rest of the family!
THANK you Lord!!!
Great pictures. I love that you said future FREEPER. That is awesome. Continued prayers for your daughter that she is able to be with the beautiful baby.
FANTASTIC pictures.
It looks like it all went real well.
Let’s hope and pray the Mother gets rested up and her heart is strengthened for her new responsibilities.
Grandma must be beaming!
What a beautiful, healthy looking baby you’ve got there! Congratulations... (o:
Continued prayers!
What a precious and wonderful way to start our day!
Praise the Lord!!!
Prayers-of ALL kinds-for all of you!
The pix came right behind that post .. he IS a beautiful baby. Caesarians babies look good and far less scrunchy right away. Winston Churchill’s grandson said “all new babies look like my grandfather.” He wasn’t far off ... so happy for this family.
She sure sounded like she was on the phone. I heard the little one just "talkin" away while grandma was sharing the news.
Praying for healing for this family.
prayer request.
PRAYER BUMP!
Received from the new Gramma...
UPDATE!
I just got back from the hospital. The scheduled meetings were set aside to handle the issues at the hospital.
After many misleading statements, etc both my daugther and I were fed up. The little bit of sleep last night didn’t help much to soften the frustration.
She called me this morning from the hospital. OB had called down to her and told her about the baby. She told me what they were proposing in the critical care unit, and updated me there. I snuck up and saw the baby on my way to drop off items for the meetings I was going to miss. He opened his eyes and we talked. (grin) I am not able to divulge the conversation, as I was sworn to secrecy!
While I was up in OB I spoke with the nurses there, again, about the issues with my daughter and her situation. The nurse who was with her during the c-section and in recovery listened and gave suggestions. They felt for her but their hands were tied as well.
I went up to my daughter and we had a discussion with the nurse who had been on yesterday. This time it was not ME who was riled-up but my daughter. They had promised last night that the doctors would be called at 8am, when I had gotten there it still had not been done at 8:45 am. A few minutes later an OB nurse came down, with the nurse from the Critical Care Unit and we had a pow-wow. We were told it was Saturday, so it would be hard to know when the Drs could come in. They might be “golfing”! At this point, my Daughter said,”That is fine. I have the OB Dr cell number and he said if I had any trouble to call him right away.” They left understanding there was an expectation of the Baby Dr, OB Dr and Cardiac Dr checking in with my daughter in the next hour. (we never saw the OB on call Dr today, not the one who delivered the baby and would have come with a cell phone call.)
The CC nurse returned in less than 5 minutes reporting she had reached all 3 and they responded they would be in before noon. IN 20 minutes the Baby Dr was there, stated the babe was in great condition and could come down every 4 hours to see mommy for 30 minutes. They were concerned about the disease risks on the CC floor. In less than an hour we had a cardiac tech in the room. While she was doing the echo of my daughter, they brought the baby in! So she got to hold the baby and they did the echo of the baby at the same time, and through techonology sent the readings to the Cardiac Dr. Just after the baby left, the Cardiac Dr came in, stated her heart looks no worse for the surgery and she could be moved to OB. HALLELUJAH! She also said the baby’s heart looks healthy, but the condition may show up by teen years so he needs to monitored every 5 yrs. PTL!!!
It took the CC another 4 hours to get her finally moved to OB.
Her sisters and I left her happy and settling in with baby in the OB room. Give them some time to rest, us time to eat and take care of the critters at home before heading back to the hospital.
Another echo is scheduled for before her release. They will keep til at least Tuesday morning. (BUT, considering all that we were told in the last 24 hours that was ever changing, never written and totally inconsistant...I count only on the sun rising, and God’s grace being sufficient.)
We have a few more days to go through but...things are looking up.
God was ever present.
Your prayers were very effective and appreciated more than words can express!!
How was God in all of this?
1 - Considering all of her health issues, with God’s grace she and baby defied medical expectations! She carried him to delivery! He is alive and healthy. She is alive and kicking!! /expectations were the baby would not survive. Only one other case in the US has ever gone through a pregnancy to term with this heart condition. She also had other medical issues that increased the risks and complications.
2 - She was told the baby would be premie and end up in NICU. He was 7 lbs 4 oz, and other than a slight O2 issue the first few hours, was fine and went straight to the OB Nursery!
3 - They did not expect her to come through the surgery as well as she did. They anticipated her going to ICU for a few days (not told us until later in the middle of it all). Instead she was in recovery and waiting for an open bed for several hours in Critical Care.
4 - They allowed one support person. I cannot stomach blood. Her mentor mom was out of town. She asked her dad, and that has been a beautiful thing after years of strain in the relationships of the kids and their dad. He stayed most of the day, til they moved her to CC and he saw her there. God is moving in his heart!
5 - The nurse who was with her through the surgery and in recovery is a former student of mine! A supervising nurse on the floor she started on yesterday is a distant relative and I grew up with her. One of the nurses in OB is someone I went to high school with and worked in the hospital my daughter was born in! (I did not grow up in the city I am currently living in, or this state.)
Thank you for the prayers! You will never know how much they were appreciated!! We have our miracle baby!!!
May God’s blessings rest upon all of you and yours.
Continuing to pray for mom and baby(and grandma). So happy to know about the baby! Nice size and weight!
Congratulations and Thanks Be To God for all the Power He has shown us this day.
Prayers sent
