What about DL's rights? This may have been posted earlier, but it certainly seems to apply now.

UNICEF Convention on the Rights of a Child

Articles 9 & 10: “… a child shall not be separated from his or her parents against their will … [and shall be permitted to cross national borders] for … family reunification ….”

ANS told Larry, G. Ben Thompson, Ford Shelly...and who knows who else that Larry was the father and that her plan to go to the Bahamas was to prevent him from asserting his paternity.

Article 33: States shall “protect children from the illicit use of … drugs and … prevent the use of children in [their] production and trafficking.”

The "home" in which she resides is headed by someone who has been known to have drugs which are illegal in the Bahamas in his posession (methadone) and has had two people die of overdoses in his care or presence in the past 7 months.

Article 35: States shall “prevent the abduction of, sale of or traffic in children for any purpose or in any form.”

Based on the fact that we have reason to believe that another man is the father, HKS is using the Bahamas to in effect abduct the child from his rightful biological father.

HELLO??? Is anyone in the Bahamas listening???

I got that part. I'm just hoping that this is being attended to. Talking about it ain't going to make it happen. Still a fellow freeper says things are going on that we're not privy to so I guess this may be one of those.

LOL - yes, everybody saw Greta - good! TRO - temporary restraining order - sounds good - but why didn't LB's legal team figure that out a lot sooner and already have it in the works???

Debra Opri on Ronald Reagan from her website

Ronald Reagan: A Tribute

June 2004
by Debra Opri - Attorney and Legal Analyst

Ronald Reagan. He was to my generation, what Franklin Roosevelt was to my parents. He was a father figure... a leader.... to many, a savior.

Like the rest of my generation, Ronald Reagan had been known as a one time movie actor and two term governor of California. At the time of the 1980 presidential election, I was a New Jersey girl attending New York University. I was young, and I was, in a word, a virgin to politics. When I first voted for him, I remember standing in line with my parents and my siblings in that small New Jersey suburb voting hall. I remember hearing my father state that we would all vote for Reagan as he was the best man for the job. I remember telling my father that this was, after all, a democracy, and I would vote for who I wanted. He looked at me and smiled and he spoke those words that would stay with me forever: "That's right, Debra, and he is the man we all want." I'll end the story by stating that I ended up voting for Ronald Reagan. He was the man I wanted. However young, this I knew for sure. Four years later, I voted for President Reagan again.

When Reagan left us after his second term, it was as if a grandfather had passed. A world of security assured by that of an older generation had left me. I admit, that while I yearned for the youthfulness of what Clinton would later offer, I mourned the loss of that older generation‚ unquestioned sense of security. I would never feel it again. And as we enter the election of 2004, I must admit, I yearn for it still. A lost dream. A desire for that City on the Hill.......a city I remember but which we have all lost sight of since 9-11.

Today, one week after Ronald Reagan has left us for good, and more than 15 years since he left public office, I remember those days of secureness in our country and in our dreams. They were days when we believed the days ahead would be good ones. Days that would be better for all of us.

I do not mourn the loss of Ronald Reagan today. I do, however, celebrate his life, and what he brought to this country and to me. I mourn for his wife.......his dear Nancy....and I yearn for her peace and for the day when she and all of us will find ourselves wrapped in the glow and comfort of Ronald Reagan's goodness and love for this country.

I was moved to write this column one week after his burial, with the thought that should I still feel as strongly as I did when I first viewed his coffin up to the last moment when Nancy kissed him goodbye in Simi Valley, I would feel confident that the strength of my emotions would equal the sincerity of my conviction that the man I had lost sight of for the past 15 years since he had left office, was a great man who had, indeed, affected my life.......and the lives of so many millions of others......in a good way.

Today, I mourn the loss of someone to believe in. I believed in Ronald Reagan and the convictions he held. I mourn the loss of his generation as the beacon of the light to that City on the Hill, President Reagan spoke so often about. I dream of a day when we will happen upon another like him. For this I have great hope. For this I look to tomorrow.

May God bless the memory of Ronald Reagan and all that he stood for.

Yes. Seems to me the attorneys for the "good guys" are just not being very smart. Too bad for the baby.

I thought there was *already* an order in place to destroy the sample as soon as confirmed and never use any of it again for any purpose.

That's how *ET* has been reporting it for weeks.

Ugh - I don't know - haven't been paying attention to ET except from here.....

Hey, can anybody report what happened today after the appeal decision on the jury for the inquest? Was a jury ruled out? Did they have any witnesses testify today?

I had followed everything up til about 3pm and then work actually took over..... :-)

She's been negative in her attitude on this case from day one -- so has Lisa Bloom, her daughter.

Oh, I don't think Opri would willingly leave any stone unturned, if anything LB was wanting to go more low-key and play nice with Stern, this is what he gets in return.

I think the problem here is that until the DNA test results are known LB wouldn't have standing as the father.

Since DL is in the questionable 'care' of HKS, it seems the Conventions could be employed to put DL in the custody of Virgie, at least until paternity is determined.

I don't think the Ohio lab will be upset if they are never asked to do a DNA test for the Bahama Courts again.

Once those "samples" hit US soil they no longer where under the jurisdiction of the Bahamian courts. I tried to tell you all this last week without spelling it all out on the forum.

Opri confirmed that the California courts already have an interest in the DNA results coming from the Ohio lab and that they will be accepted and upheld in the California Courts. She said this on Sunday on The Line Up.

The Bahama courts will be given the chance to do the right thing. If they don't... other measures can (will?) be taken here in the USA.

Well Larry doesn't seem to be too worried and he is back in the States. I just wish there was confirmation as to whether his attys are following thru with this. I wonder even if the samples are destroyed if the results could still just be used in the California case. That panel on Greta (except for Alldread) were all jonsing for Stern to be arrested for kidnapping. I loved it. If we can't get you for murder..we'll get you for kidnapping seemed to be the unspoken mantra.

California doesn't. The DNA lab in Ohio has the results and they are sealed. Stern wants them destroyed. The Stern team is saying a swab is inaccurate and the only thing accurate is blood and blood is against Dannielynn's rights until she turns 18 and gives permission for someone to have her blood tested for DNA.

I never could understand why that hasn't happened yet, but HK$ is the "legal" father according to the Bahamas. But now, since there is a challenge, they should let Virgie take care of her until this is resolved.

Showbiz Tonight~~~~~

Pat Lalama and Jane Valez-Mitchel...both are ripping into HKS. Delaying in order to claim a bonding relationship with DL, so that when he loses paternity he will retain custody.

Dang...Flash Flood Weather Warning...cut off Showbiz Tonight!!
