Anna Nicole Smith has died according to ABC News

Posted on 02/08/2007 12:39:03 PM PST by kcvl

Anna Nicole Smith collapsed in her hotel room at the Hard Rock Cafe and Casino in Hollywood, Fla., and was rushed to a hospital on Thursday. A Hollywood, Fla., fire department spokesman told MSNBC TV that the actress was unresponsive when the rescue unit arrived on the scene.

Sources confirmed to Access Hollywood that Smith was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital shortly after 2 p.m. EST on Thursday. Access Hollywood also is reporting that Smith was intubated at the scene.

Officials told the Miami Herald, "it does not look good."

Sounds like this guy might be one that Howard said to: Go to the closet. Get all the papers out of there, her computer etc.. Why am I saying that??? Because Howard after pointing out a few obvious things....Went right to the closet and said "All the important legal documents were gone including the baby's birth certificate. In a bit, he opened an album and there was the photo of Gibson in bed with Anna.

Would like to know more about this Pol guy.

Just add this to one more huge complication. The Old Man's money to ANS might not be taxed.
http://www.estateattorney.com/basicfet.htm

However, when it goes to the child..it might be taxed. I don't know what the tax rate is now but it could be about 1/2 the estate...or 200 million dollars in a broad figure.

So, if the child has not yet claimed to be a citizen of the Bahamas but will be allowed to claim it...how is she taxed when she gets the money. What would you do if you could save 200 million dollars by declaring to be a Bahamian citizen?

Also, is there such a thing in the US as dual citizenship?
http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_1753.html

And how does that effect all of this.

No....There's more to this. This guy must have some "power" in the Bahamas. Sounds like he knows a lot about the place and knows who to go to.

Sheesh,,,and here I thought he was just a dress designer. Now we find out he was a major player in the ANS saga.

Has anyone seen a picture of the former lesbian lover?

"The friggin boat likely cost more than Virgies house is worth."

Didn't she say her house is worth, $70,000-$80,000?

Click on this site to see how much some "boats" are worth. Keep in mind, most of these are used and not 2007, new models:

Still, very intrigued by HK$'s parentals buying sonny a house in the sun?

Howie wants to be a citizen to protect himself - money-wise and other wise.

Look what I found when I was looking for something on Pol Atteau. Don't stop reading before you get to the last paragraph. A big ole ET WHOOPS!

September 25, 2006

"PATRIK SIMPSON and fashion designer POL ATTEU tell ET how their close friend ANNA NICOLE SMITH is coping with the birth of her baby girl, the death of her son, DANIEL, and the alleged father of her newborn child.

"The first night that I got there, she was completely devastated," Patrik says. "She hugged me. I held her, she just cried and cried. Actually just cried herself to sleep in my arms."

Patrik says that right now, Anna Nicole is taking care of her baby and that people are there with her to help her with everything through her devastating ordeal.

The friends say they last saw Daniel about three weeks ago and that he seemed healthy and happy.

"He was always smiling, always happy, a happy-go-lucky kid." Patrik says. "She adored him. He adored her."

"Daniel was very well-taken care of no matter where she was," Pol adds. "No matter what she had to do."

They say Anna Nicole wanted a sister for Daniel, and that she chose who she wanted as the father. Photographer LARRY BIRKHEAD came to ET and told us that he is the father, but her friends say they know different.

"She's never once told us that he was [the father]," Pol says. "She told us in confidence ... we respect that as friends, so if she decides she wants to tell anyone else, then that's for her to be able to say."

The same goes for the name of the baby girl -- originally reported to ET as Hannah -- but Pol and Patrik say that's not the name they were told.

"Maybe she was gonna," Patrik says. "But made a change. When Anna's ready to tell everyone the name of the baby, she will. I'm sure she's gonna give the official name very soon."

As for Larry, he tells ET, "I can only go by what Anna told me. We should end the 'he said/she said' until the paternity test I've requested has been conducted."

Daniel's body is now at the Butler Funeral Home in the Bahamas awaiting transportation back to the United States. His death certificate was issued last week. The cause of death is listed as "unknown."

They bought a 10 year old 40' Carver sport motor yacht. The engines had less than 500 miles on them. Top price would run about $200,000.

Yes, I believe you're right. I don't think Stern thought it would come to this. It was so great watching him squirm in the courtroom! Like you said, Birkhead probably knows a lot more.

Someone said that ANS said that she didn't know who the father was..it might have been Kimmie that said that.

There is a post over on the CourtTV thread that Says Jackie Hatten claims that her brother said ANS had more than one miscarriage with him..and that she froze his sperm.

I wonder how many miscarriages she did have.

I still think it is possible that the current people being tested will turn out to not be the father and HKS wins by default if he isn't forced to take a paternity test.

http://boards.courttv.com/showthread.php?s=c511afbd7fcc5e4eb6911907a202b42d&threadid=288986

Milton Evans, a Bahamian attorney was interviewed by Chris Jansen on MSNBC this morning, I learned some interesting things as a result of this interview and thought I'd share:

1. According to Milton, if the Bahamian court does eventually order that HKS must submit DL for paternity testing, there is nothing in Bahamian law that really requires him to comply. Here in the US, there are a number of judicial remedies to ensure a person complies with a court order. Apparently, in the Bahamas, (according to Milton Evans) there is no such remedy. DNA testing is a matter of discretion there. HKS would not be found in contempt, nothing would happen, which imo, begs the question, why bother? If nothing can/will be done to ensure compliance, then why bother with any ruling to require testing? Milton also said that if HKS refuses to comply, while the court won't do anything, the court CAN make certain inferences about him...so they could infer that he knows he is not the father.

2. According to Milton, the biggest question for the court in the Bahamas will be "what is in the best interest of the child". Unlike the US where biology is a pretty significant factor in determining custody, apparently that is not the case in the Bahamas and the courts there will primarily be concerned with who can best raise her, their financial position, their emotional stability, etc. I thought this was an interesting position.

3. In a separate interview Chris had with Ron Mott (an MSNBC reporter currently in the Bahamian), it was revealed the ANS apparently DID buy a home in the Bahamas. Not the Horizons property she was residing in, but some other property that required significant renovations. It was shown on screen and it certainly does need a lot of work. The way the story was told, it appears she did this very quietly and it was not known until yesterday.

4. Finally, Millstein, the GAL for DannieLynn has announced this morning that ANS will not be laid to rest before Tuesday.

Where did Anna store the frozen sperm? Her Freezer?

Did she use a Turkey Baster to impregnate herself or did she go to a clinic? In which case someone would have records..

See?..It just simply DID NOT happen..

The only objection would be based on privacy. If every baby born has DNA taken, that's a massive database!

Also, wouldn't testing babies born in wedlock lead to further desecration of the concept of family and the sanctity of marriage? I'd rather leave it to the married couples to sort it out in their divorce if it comes to it!

HKS doesn't really need to initially submit DL for a paternity test. All Larry needs to do is get a hold of her and snip some hair. He can do some testing and "release" the results. It will snowball from there.

I can't believe HKS is going to let Larry see the child unless he knows for sure Larry isn't the father.

I suppose he could find that out from Larry's drinking cup.

I'm waiting for Howie to say that he's haapy that Virgie will be able to attend Anna's funeral because it always bothered him that "ANNA SAID" that she didn't want her at Daniel's.

He's going to "play" this IT WAS ALL ANNA to the hilt. She wanted the house in the Bahamas, She wanted the boat. She wanted to have the baby in the Bahamas. She wanted the 10 carat rock. She wanted my name on the birth certificate. She wanted the Residency speeded up. She wanted the wedding ceremony on the boat.

This will now be: I loved her. I wanted her to be happy.

Why didn't he REALLY marry her? I don't think she knew that she wasn't really married. She would have ordered the dress for the upcoming REAL wedding before she died. Ever see her wear a dress for special occasions twice??

"Exactly. Therefore, there is no *proof* that Larry Birkhead is the biological father.
And I have followed the case."

No one here has ever said that Birkhead is definitely the biological father. We're just hoping. He seems like a decent guy, considering the other men we know about, and it seems like there are several. There might also be more who won't admit it. Who knows.

So,sure there's a chance that he isn't the father; however, his testimony in the courtroom opened a lot of eyes to just what HKS is all about. Birkhead, in my opinion, knows a lot more about HKS, and there might come a day when he's forced to tell more.
