Howdy, COLD here again, wind blowing, no where near what you all are getting but we are not use to this cold. To give you an example I have already busted up my garden and rowed it, ready to put down son turnip and mustard greens.
Question for you, someone suggested I plant a upside tomato plant, something to do with 5 gal bucket, anyone aware of what I am talking about?
To: Jemian
Good morning to you as well.
To: gulfcoast6
We had a big discussion about those tomatoes last spring. Umm. I don't remember enough to give you details but I'm sure someone else does.
I am so discouraged and angry right now. I think I'll just live in a cave and not talk to anyone.
I really won't do that, but I sure want to.

I've read about the growing system you mentioned above, but I've never done it. I really don't have a good place to hang one, or I'd give it a try just to see if I could make it work.

Good Brrrr Morning!
For your reading pleasure, a book about rural church signs: go to readingeagle.com, click on 'religion', then scroll down to next to the last title in 'more religion..."
(For some unknown reason, I could not get this specific column to link, but I encourage you to give the site a try because it's about a book you just might want to read or buy.

Good morning.
Toby, I was going to do the upside down tomato planting last year. Never did. Hopefully this year I will.
Here's how it's done.

I did try it last summer, lysie and Toby. I used an old 2 1/2 gallon bucket...a 5 gallon bucket w/soil was too heavy for me to handle while lifting it up to hang. Because of its size I had to keep it watered every day (or more often), a lot of trouble.
I also used Big Boy tomatoe plants...another mistake because the growing tomatoes were too heavy and tended to break the plant stems.
However, I'm going to give it another try this spring/summer...but I'll use cherry tomato plants instead.

I was worried about the weight of the tomatoes, too. Cherry tomatoes would be a much better choice.

He was pushing his book
Positively American: Winning Back the Middle-Class Majority One Family at a Time (Hardcover)
I just turned on the TV and I caught the tail end .. he was pushing for states/local government to bring down their property taxes and have the Feds pay for all of Education
Then he went on to talk about immigration ... that a fence won't work ... that the government needs to go after employers with stiffer penalties
That there needs to be a national employee card ... that when you apply for a job, the employer would swipe a card to see if you are hear legally
He also kept calling middle americans "The Baileys"

At last, a bumper sticker for both parties
.
FINALLY, someone has come out with a 100% bipartisan political bumper sticker. The hottest selling bumper sticker comes from New York state .
"RUN HILLARY RUN"
Democrats put it on the rear bumper.
Republicans put it on the front bumper.
To: Mo1; Miss Marple
'Winning back the middle class...'= back to the dem party. So he advocates that local and state governments reduce property taxes so that he and his cohorts can get their hands on even more tax money for....what else? The chil'ren. HA! (to use Miss Marple's favorite scoff. LOL)

A little distracted this a.m...
moving furniture for carpet cleaner, & working out details of family get-together next summer, so I can reserve the right venue...
This long-distance planning is tricky!
