Hi folks! Tonight's thread topic...*drumroll* Guilty Pleasures!
Doro. German singer, was once lead singer of Warlock. That cover was just a few years ago.
She's kinda neat.
I like her raunchy voice.

Doro Pesch (born 3 June 1964, Düsseldorf, Germany) is a female vocalist, formerly of the German heavy metal band Warlock and one of the few female singers of the 1980s heavy metal scene, which was primarily a male-dominated genre of music.
After Warlock underwent many personnel changes, Pesch was the only remaining original member of the band. After changing her record label, she released the fifth album as Doro, as the former label owned the trademark on the Warlock name.
Pesch now pursues a solo career and lives in New York City. A recent album Classic Diamonds is a collaboration with The Classic Night Orchestra which reworked some of her earlier songs. Her latest album is Warrior Soul from 2006.

Strangely enough, Ester Lily is too afraid to eat if I shake her food. She just gives me this "stop playing with my food" look and slithers away. I tried the wiggle trick for Elvis last week, but he's still in refusal mode. Dangling and twisting usually works for Katrina, but she just wasn't hungry last week.

Here at home, unfortunately one can not just rest & get well, the zoo & mom are very demanding. Cali still hanging in but is like another invalid here. Mom, of course is totally dependent.
Missed church for the first time in a LONG time & just got up a bit ago.
Eyes really hurt here at computer(mega headache) so wont be on much.
I just want to offer this as my Sunday devotional... this is Steve, who died of a heart attack last week at the age of 23. He was very devoted to his dad (who died 10 years ago) and to his creator. I believe he is with them both again. I attended his memorial service yesterday in Chagrin Falls. I believe young men like him remind us that we cannot count on tomorrow...Live your days to the fullest and with the most honor...as if every conversation you have with people will be the last & your final footsteps will be worthy & loving to those you encounter. This young man did.

It's sunny here, still cool... very pretty day. I'm bundling up to go out and shop at the nearby Trader Joe's.
Then, back home for more rest and FReeping. Wish I had time for this thread, it looks like fun..

But there is hope. A Chili's just opened in town and we have a new Lowe's and will soon be getting a huge Target store about a mile away. Maybe Trader Joe's will open up here too. Our town is growing like crazy.

This will freak out some people, but I have THREE... count 'em, 3... Trader Joe's within 5-15 minutes, either walking or driving.
You are sure to get a Trader Joe's ... surprised you don't have one yet! They do a booming business around here. It's a fun place too, as they often have food and drink samples out.

I will send a famine on the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord. —Amos 8:11
In the novel No Blade of Grass, a destructive virus attacks the grasses of the world. Not just the grass in lawns but all grasses, including wheat, barley, rye, oats, and rice. In a matter of months, the world is plunged into famine and its brutal companion, violence. People begin by fighting, then killing, for food.
The novel depicts a scene that has been lived out in the real world in recent famines and is terrifying when seen on TV news networks. Yet I can only imagine what it’s like.
The prophet Amos spoke of a different kind of famine. He called it a famine of “hearing the words of the Lord” (8:11). While a lack of food can lead to disease and death, a famine of the Word can produce eternal consequences. Without access to God’s Word, we lack wisdom for life and the message of eternal life in Christ. As Christians, we need “the pure milk of the Word, that [we] may grow thereby” (1 Peter 2:2). We can identify with the prophet when he said, “Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart” (Jer. 15:16).
The world is starving for the knowledge of the God who can satisfy the needs of the human heart. Let’s help fill their hearts by sharing His Word.
