...With a record of 2-11, the silver-and-Honolulu blue are firmly entrenched at No. 32 on any power poll in this spiral arm of the galaxy. Entrenched, that is, until another loss drops them behind Ohio State, Florida and the Hamburg Sea Devils. Think it can't get worse? Hey, this is the Lions. NFL schedule makers saw fit to arrange the endgame Kitty Cats' so, so long season likewise: at the Green Bay Packers where the Lions haven't won since a guy named Brett Favre took over there (that's right, 1992); against the Chicago Bears in a game which figures to see Motor City backers immortalize the chant "Fire *&#!!%&ing Millen!"; and at the Dallas Cowboys , who on New Year's Eve will probably looking to bag the No. 2 seed in the NFC... Kevin Jones, who was knocked out of the loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, figures to be out for the remainder of the season... Pro Bowl nominee Shaun Rogers... was slapped by the commissioner after testing positive for steroids. The judgment had Rogers forcibly sitting out four games and giving up $250,000. Naturally, "Big Baby" was innocent, protesting that the positive test represented a product that the 354-pound Rogers used to help him control his weight. Or he has asthma. Or he thought they were Shawne Merriman's Pez. Or something... Team officials announced yesterday that WR Mike Williams - you remember him: the former first-round draft pick cum The Most Useless Player in the NFL Today - flunked a weigh-in. At 240 pounds, Williams only missed the target set by Rod Marinelli and Co. by 20. Though no punitive measures have been mentioned, any punishment would seem pointless other then some quality time on the bench... Fire &#!!%&ing Millen.

Aren't the Packers in their bye week? Or do they play tomorrow? And isn't Rogers out with an injury? I'm not sure how long it has been since Detroit beat the Bears twice in a season.Johnson catches 2 TD passes as Detroit Lions edge Chicago Bears 21-19 in key NFC North matchup
Johnson had two second-half touchdown receptions, Reggie Bush rushed for 105 yards and the Detroit Lions beat Jay Cutler and the Chicago Bears 21-19 on Sunday in a key matchup of NFC North rivals. Johnson broke Moores franchise record with his 63rd career touchdown reception with 2:22 to go, giving the Lions a 21-13 lead with a 14-yard grab in the corner of the end zone. He also had a tiebreaking 4-yard TD reception on the first drive in the third quarter... Detroit (6-3) swept the season series against Chicago (5-4). The Lions, Bears and Packers began the day in a three-way tie for the division lead.
At least if you’re going to turn the ball over lots of times, you should strive to set the one-game record for turnovers. Thanks boys for engineering another brilliant defeat.
Lions 40, Packers 10.
First Thanksgiving Day game victory for Detroit (Day-Twa) in something like ten years, and 7:5:0 season record, including two over the Bears, a split with GB, and one to go with the Vikings. No points scored in the second half by the Packers, who seemed to become the first half Lions. Aaron “70s Porn Star” Rogers was fuming on the sidelines, and I do feel for the guy, because I actually like him (must be those State Farm commercials).
For that matter, and notice I writing this behind the anonymity of the Internet, I’ve always admired the fact that the Packers are the only community-owned team in the NFL. They had a bad stretch in the 1970s, but basically, players who go to Green Bay go because they want to play quality football. I don’t think that they’ve got that much of a problem with their QB switch, because they are a well-recruited and well-coached team.
This isn’t going to be their year, however.

The Lions’ offensive play-calling was abominable, and the results show. Yes, the two consecutive BS penalties handed a touchdown to the Eagles, but it wouldn’t have made a difference in the outcome.
Tell me — are you jackasses serious about winning football games, or the division? Or is the whole thing just some kind of fixing scame being run so the Mob can clean up on wagers?
Get your heads out of your asses.
Well, I came in here to put up a post-mortem for the Lions’ miserable collaspse, and after struggling with this crap-pile OS, they recovered a fumble, which is currently being reviewed.
I’ll call it right now — officials in the NFL *always* rule against Detroit. Always.
Having 18 seconds left in regulation and running one stupid play instead of taking a chance on the coin toss should result in some kind of bitch-slap of Schwartz, win or lose.
They rolled the dice on a 2 point conversion and made it, that’s nice. And with a safety they took a 7 point lead.
Then they let it slip off into a tie.
Well, what do you know? Lions ball *after the review*.
Nice drop.
The Lions need to win two games, because the Packers and Bears face each other in week 17, i.e., one of them will have one more win.
Both need to lose today for Detroit to win the division, and that’s assuming that Detroit wins its two remaining games.
3rd and 12.
Of the previous five games, they’ve lost four, and had the lead in the fourth quarter each time. They just said that they had a fourth quarter lead in each of their seven losses this season (so far).
I’m not disappointed — the disappointment receptors in my brain have been burned out by the more than 50 seasons of Lions football I’ve been around.
Ah, Giants are 2nd and 20 on their 29.
Batted pass, 3rd and 20.
Oh, nice D Lions, pass for a big gain by Eli.
Batted down, 2nd down.
Holding penalty.
And did Seattle lose to Arizona AT HOME?!?
They’re going for on 4th? Made it of course.
That’s it. Now I won’t waste my time watching them pretend to care next week against Minnesota.
I laughed a little when I saw this search hit:

The Lions whipped the Giants on Monday Night Football, 35-14, and play the Panthers in Carolina tomorrow. Both teams are 1-0, the Panthers having beaten Tampa Bay 20-14.
Panthers kicker pushes trombone player at halftime
[he apologized after the vid went viral]

I’m 2 and 0 on my W-L picks for the Lions thus far — and pick them to beat the Packers in Detroit today. I’ve got them going on a four game winning streak starting today, followed by a loss, a win, and a three game losing streak, some other stuff, finishing at 9 and 7.
One of the morons calling the game stated that the Lions hadn’t beaten the Packers in years.
The Lions beat the Packers 40-10 Thanksgiving Day 2013.
Way to prepare for the game, jackass.
Once again, Fox drops the ball with the has-been/never-was/losers they hire to call the game when the Lions play.
What’s the matter Fox? Did your jihadist bosses decide the Lions were Zions?
Well, Lions recovery of a fumble leads to TD, PA, and the Packers then go three and out (and take two attempts at 4th down). I’m likin’ this.
BTW, Twitter? Signup is multistep and wants my Google contacts. IOW, to Hell with Twitter. Interface sucks, intrusive bull**** to open an account.
Lions have been trying out kickers, including Rob Bironas:
Rob Bironas, former Titans kicker and son-in-law of Terry Bradshaw, killed in car crash

Horrible news.
I’m now 3 and oh on my predictions, so, terrific news! :’)
Whoops, sorry, I thought your reply was to 315. I wholeheartedly agree, horrible. Looks like it was just a flat-out accident, not reckless or anything, just a treacherous piece of road.
Alex Henery will be their new kicker; Nate Freese is out after missing some chip shots and basically just giving everyone something bad to focus on. Henery has NFL experience I believe.
Freese will probably wind up replacing some other lower-end team when their regular kicker goes out on injury. He’ll wind up scarred for life, but when that team faces the Lions, Freese will perform like a future Hall of Famer. :’)
